Shield 45 Degree OffSet Picatinny Mount

• 45-degree offset layout: Positions a compatible Shield red dot sight beside a magnified optic, allowing a fast transition between primary magnification and close-range aiming without changing the rifle’s main setup.
• Picatinny interface: Mounts to a standard Picatinny rail, making it a practical choice for rifle platforms that already use this common mounting system.
• Lightweight aluminium body: At 15.00 g, the mount adds very little weight, helping preserve the balance and handling of a rifle used for dynamic shooting or hunting.
• Compact accessory solution: The simple offset design keeps the sight close to the rifle, reducing bulk while still giving quick access to a secondary aiming system.
• Built for Shield mini sights: Designed as part of the Shield Sights Accessories range, it supports Shield’s red dot ecosystem and suits users who want a dedicated mount for RMS/SMS-pattern optics.

About the Shield Sights Accessories Series

Shield Sights Accessories is the supporting hardware range that extends the usefulness of the company’s sight systems across different firearms and mounting setups. Rather than focusing on one optic alone, this series brings together the practical parts that help users adapt, protect, maintain, and mount Shield products in the field. The range includes mounts and adapter plates for Shield sight models, along with items such as covers, spacer sets, and replacement battery caps.

That broad accessory approach makes the series especially relevant for shooters who want to tailor a sight to a specific rifle, shotgun, or handgun role. Some parts are aimed at maintaining existing optics, while others are intended to change mounting height, interface type, or overall handling. In practice, the series reflects Shield’s modular design philosophy: compact optics supported by purpose-built hardware that keeps installation straightforward and preserves a low, efficient footprint. For users of mini red dot sights, the accessory family provides the small but important components that make a sight system work cleanly on different platforms.

About the Shield 45 Degree OffSet Picatinny Mount

The Shield 45 Degree OffSet Picatinny Mount is built for shooters who want a secondary red dot sight mounted alongside a magnified optic. Its 45-degree offset configuration makes that setup practical on a rifle: the main optic can stay dedicated to distance work, while a compatible Shield mini sight can be brought into view quickly for close targets by rotating the rifle slightly. This kind of arrangement is especially useful on rifles that need to cover both short and intermediate distances without changing optics or compromising the primary scope position.

The mount is designed for a Picatinny rail interface, which makes it easy to integrate into many modern rifle builds. Because it is intended for red dot sights, it suits compact reflex optics where low weight and fast presentation matter more than added complexity. The aluminium construction keeps the mount rigid enough for field use while holding weight to just 15.00 g, so it adds minimal mass to the rifle and does not make the setup feel top-heavy or cluttered.

In practical terms, this mount is about speed and efficiency. It gives a rifle a dedicated close-range aiming option without replacing the primary optic, and it does so with a compact black aluminium structure that fits naturally into modern sporting, hunting, or tactical-style rifle configurations.

About Shield Sights

Shield International was formed in Great Britain in 1983, and the company has long focused on designing and manufacturing firearm sights for military, law enforcement, and civilian use. Its product range includes mini red dot sights and rifle sights, with a strong reputation built around compact electronic aiming systems.

A key part of Shield’s history is its early work in miniature reflex optics: the company’s original mini red dot sight design dates to 1996. Over time, Shield mini red dot sights were also sold under names including Firepoint, Tasco Optima, Trijicon RedDot, and JPoint. Shield also developed the Close Quarter Battlesight for the UK military and later introduced the civilian-oriented Close Quarter Sportsight in 2011, showing the brand’s experience in adapting duty-focused sight concepts for broader sporting use.
