Rusan Picatinny rail - CZ 527 Product description

  • Steel construction: The rail uses a steel body for a rigid mounting platform that resists flex under recoil and helps an optic stay aligned over repeated use.
  • Picatinny interface: A full Picatinny top profile gives the CZ 527 a widely compatible mounting surface for modern riflescopes, red dots, and other sighting accessories.
  • Model-specific fit: This base is made for the CZ 527 and the 16.5 mm CZ/Brno dovetail pattern, which simplifies installation and gives a secure mechanical fit on the rifle.
  • 0 MOA inclination: The flat rail keeps the optic level with the bore line, making it a practical choice for general hunting and sporting setups where extra cant is not required.
  • Low-profile design: With a BH height of 5.50 mm and a 105.00 mm length, the rail adds Picatinny versatility without making the rifle unnecessarily bulky.

About the Rusan Picatinny Bases Series

Rusan Picatinny Bases are built as model-specific mounting solutions for shooters who want to place modern optics on rifles that originally use proprietary receiver interfaces. Within the Rusan lineup, this series serves as a practical bridge between classic hunting rifles and the broad ecosystem of Picatinny-compatible optics and rings. The family covers a wide range of rifle actions, with versions made for platforms such as Steyr SBS, Zastava M70, Remington 7400, and CZ 550, so the concept is consistent across many firearm types.

The series is defined by high-grade steel construction and a black oxide semi-gloss finish, combining mechanical strength with a subdued appearance that suits hunting and sporting rifles. Rusan also builds these rails to the MIL-STD-1913 pattern, with 5.3 mm slots spaced 10 mm apart, which matters because it gives predictable compatibility with Picatinny rings and accessories. Depending on the rifle model, the series includes different mounting styles, including countersunk screws, set screws, quick-release lever arrangements, or versions with no holes. Some variants are also available with 10, 20, 30, or 40 MOA inclination, giving the range flexibility for both ordinary field use and more specialized long-range setups.

About the Rusan Picatinny rail - CZ 527

The Rusan Picatinny rail - CZ 527 is a dedicated steel base that converts the CZ 527 receiver to a Picatinny mounting standard, making it easier to use a far wider selection of scope rings and sighting systems than the original rifle interface allows. That matters for shooters who want to modernize a compact bolt-action rifle for hunting optics, a lightweight target scope, or a small red dot without being limited to a narrow choice of mounts.

This version uses a 105.00 mm rail body with a 5.50 mm BH height, so it keeps the mounting platform relatively low while still providing the cross-slot geometry needed for repeatable ring placement. The 0 MOA inclination makes it especially suitable for general-purpose zeroing distances and conventional hunting applications, where a flat base is often the simplest and most practical option. Its steel construction helps maintain rigidity under recoil and supports consistent optic alignment, which is important for preserving zero over time.

Because it is matched to the CZ 527 and the 16.5 mm CZ/Brno interface, the rail is designed around the rifle rather than as a universal compromise. In practical use, that gives a cleaner fit and a more secure foundation for the optic. The black finish keeps the installation visually discreet, while the Picatinny format leaves room to choose ring height, eye relief position, and optic type according to the rifle’s intended role.

About Rusan

Rusan is a Croatian manufacturer whose roots go back to 1983, when the Rusan family’s metalworking business began. Željko Rusan opened a gunsmith shop in 1986, and the company moved into scope-mount production in 1993. Based in Marija Bistrica, Croatia, Rusan-Mikron focuses on precision-made mounting solutions and related firearm components.

The company is especially known for scope mounts, scope rings, Picatinny rails, and firearm tuning products, along with adapter systems for night-vision and thermal devices. Rusan introduced its clip-on sight adapter clamp in 2009, reflecting a product philosophy centered on practical mechanical solutions for sporting and hunting firearms. That background is directly relevant here: a rail such as this CZ 527 model comes from a manufacturer with long experience in machining steel mounting components that need to fit specific rifle actions accurately and hold optics securely in field use.

Hello

Is this product suitable for a Brno Model 1 .22LR rifle?- the rifle has 16mm Dovetail. Has this mount been successfully mounted onto a Brno Model 1?

regards, Steve

by Steve

Dear Sir!

The Rusan Picatinny rail for CZ 527 is designed for a 16.5 mm dovetail, while your BRNO Model 1 has a 16 mm dovetail.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee compatibility, and we do not have confirmation that this particular rail can be successfully installed on a BRNO Model 1.

Hi. I have a CZ 527 and a Zeiss V4 6-24x50 scope and I'm looking for mounting options for this combination. To achive proper eye releaf I need to mount the scope a bit forward which in turn positions the scope turret slightly over the front dovetailbase making it impossible to use regular 16mm dovetail rings. So I'd like to mount a picatinny or similar solution and by that making it possible to have the scope mounted a bit forward with a comfortable eyereleaf. And of course the BH is also a factor, ideally I'd like to have the scope as low as possible with a BH of 15-16 mm. I hope you guys can give me advice on this matter and a porpouse a snug mount option for me. Kind Regards.

by Willy

Your total BH height should be at least 14 mm high in order to work comfortably. The BH height of the Picatinny rail is around 6 mm which means that you still require roughly around 8 mm of BH height with the rings. You can take a look at the rings on the page below. If you require any additional assistance in this regard we would kindly ask you to contact us again at [email protected]

Rusan Picatinny rail for cz 527

Product is well executed. Mechanical processing and surface treatment show no defects or imperfections.

However the measurements are approximate, the slide protrudes by about 1.5mm in the back (see photo)

The 4 fixing screws are short and the rear left one coincides with the original CZ locking hole, with the result of using very few threads. (see photo)
I modified by inserting a metal thickness to remedy the problem (see photo)

Attention BH height of the base is about 8.5 mm not 5.5 as written.

They are good but with some disadvantages

Hi dear,

I am a customer of Rusan products and i like this brand, but i feel your picatinny rail for CZ 527 and overally for 16mm dovetail has some disadvantages:

1. It should be mounted on a small bore rifle, steel rail is heavy for such fine and light weight guns, i think aluminum is more suitable

2. Over the rail of Brno 2 and Zkw 465 there are some engraving marks and if your picatinny rail is fixed with vertical screws like your rail for CZ 550, these marks may be scrached, i think laterally locking screws like what recknagel produced for CZ 550 is more suitable.

Sincerely yours
Mahyar
