• Built for rifles: Designed specifically for rifle use, this sling swivel adds a secure attachment point for carrying support without adding unnecessary bulk.

About the Recknagel Accesories Series

The Recknagel Accesories series belongs to the company’s long-established range of hunting-weapon accessories and workshop-oriented components. Rather than focusing only on major assemblies, this product family covers the smaller parts that matter in daily rifle use: mounting-related items, hardware, and practical accessories that support carrying, handling and adapting a firearm to its intended role. Recknagel traces this line back to its origins in 1867, and the series reflects that background with a clear emphasis on mechanical function and compatibility.

Within the broader Recknagel catalog, the accessories range serves hunters and gunsmiths who need dependable parts for sporting and hunting firearms. The design philosophy is straightforward: precise fit, sensible material choices and solutions that integrate cleanly with established rifle formats. While some subfamilies in the range are more specialized, the common thread is practical usability in the field or workshop. Recknagel separates its mounts from its sights and hunting accessories, which gives this series a more hardware-focused identity built around rifle handling, attachment points and supporting components rather than optical systems themselves.

About the Recknagel Sling swivel R 5.5 mm, with US eyelet

The Recknagel Sling swivel R 5.5 mm, with US eyelet is a compact rifle accessory made to provide a secure sling attachment point while matching a specific 5.5 mm radius. That radius matters in practice because it helps the swivel base sit properly against the mounting surface, which supports a cleaner installation and more stable contact. On a hunting rifle, that translates into a sling connection that feels properly integrated rather than improvised.

The US eyelet format makes this model especially useful for rifles already set up around common US-pattern sling hardware. It simplifies compatibility when replacing a worn swivel or building a rifle around familiar sling components, so the user can keep a consistent carrying system across multiple firearms. For a field rifle, that consistency improves handling when moving between positions, carrying over distance or slinging the rifle securely during stalking.

Its black finish keeps the part visually unobtrusive and well suited to traditional hunting rifles as well as more modern practical setups. As part of Recknagel’s rifle accessory range, this swivel is less about adding complexity and more about doing one job reliably: creating a solid, practical sling interface that supports everyday transport and field use. For hunters and rifle owners who want a properly matched swivel rather than a generic substitute, this model offers a purpose-specific solution.

About Recknagel

Recknagel is a German manufacturer of firearm and riflescope mounting systems, sights and hunting accessories. The company began in 1867, when Adolf Recknagel started producing firearm sights in Albrechts near Suhl, Thuringia. Over time, the brand expanded into a broad range of gun-related components, including scope mounts, Picatinny rails, sights, triggers, safeties and hunting silencers, giving it a strong position in both hunting and sporting firearms.

The company relocated from Schweinfurt to Bergrheinfeld in 2006, and in 2010 it introduced the ERATAC line for tactical mounts and accessories. Recknagel added lightweight hunting silencers in 2016, further broadening its practical hunting offering. In 2022, the company was acquired by Dr. Moritz Fehrer. Across its product range, Recknagel is known for mechanically focused designs intended for dependable fit and long-term use on working firearms.
