Recknagel Rear Ring Blank with Windage Adjustment for Suhl-Claw Mount, 34 mm

• Windage-adjustable rear ring: The rear ring allows lateral correction at the mount itself, which helps align the scope more precisely on classic rifles where fitting tolerances matter.
• 34 mm ring diameter: Built for 34 mm scope tubes, this rear ring supports modern optics with larger main tubes while keeping them compatible with a traditional Suhl-claw setup.
• Steel construction: Steel gives the ring the stiffness and wear resistance needed for a detachable mount that is repeatedly removed and reinstalled over time.
• Made for Suhl-claw mounts: Designed as a spare or replacement part for Suhl Claw Scope Mounts, it preserves the character of a traditional detachable hunting mount while restoring proper function.
• 0 MOA configuration: The neutral inclination keeps the mounting geometry straightforward, which suits general hunting rifles and traditional scope installations.

About the Recknagel Suhl-Claw Mounts Series

Recknagel Suhl-Claw Mounts continue a mounting concept that was developed by gunsmiths in Suhl in the 1920s. The system remains closely associated with classic hunting rifles and combination guns, where a detachable scope mount is expected to combine traditional styling with dependable repeatability. Its defining layout uses a front hook and a rear locking mechanism, allowing the optic to be removed and reattached when the mount has been properly fitted to the firearm.

Unlike standardized rail systems, this series is built around individual fitting to the rifle. That makes it especially relevant for traditional European sporting arms, where clean lines and a low, elegant installation matter as much as function. Recknagel offers the series in versions for different scope-tube diameters as well as upper parts for manufacturer-specific rails, including Zeiss and Swarovski patterns. The result is a family of mounts that serves shooters who want the handling advantages of a removable optic without abandoning the established Suhl-claw format.

About the Recknagel Rear Ring Blank with Windage Adjustment for Suhl-Claw Mount, 34 mm

The Recknagel Rear Ring Blank with Windage Adjustment for Suhl-Claw Mount, 34 mm is a specialized rear ring for traditional detachable scope installations. Its role is not simply to hold the optic, but to provide windage adjustment at the rear mount, which is especially useful on classic rifles where precise fitting and alignment are part of the mounting process. In practice, this helps the gunsmith or experienced installer center the scope more effectively within the mount system rather than relying only on the optic’s internal adjustment range.

The 34 mm ring diameter makes this version suitable for larger modern riflescopes, which often use 34 mm main tubes to provide increased adjustment travel and robust mechanical construction. Pairing that tube size with a Suhl-claw pattern allows a traditional rifle to carry a more contemporary optic without abandoning the established detachable-mount format. The steel construction is important here because detachable claw mounts depend on precise bearing surfaces and consistent lock-up over repeated use. Steel resists wear well in those contact areas and suits a part that may be fitted, removed, and reinstalled many times.

With 0 MOA inclination, this rear ring is intended for standard mounting geometry rather than built-in elevation bias. Its silver finish also fits the visual character often associated with classic European mount work. As a spare part for Suhl Claw Scope Mounts, it is best suited to restoring, completing, or adapting a traditional mount for a 34 mm scope tube while retaining the practical advantage of a detachable hunting-optics setup.

About Recknagel

Recknagel is a German manufacturer of firearm and riflescope mounting systems, sights, and hunting accessories. The company’s history began in 1867, when Adolf Recknagel started manufacturing firearm sights in Albrechts near Suhl in Thuringia. Over time, the range expanded to include scope mounts, Picatinny rails, firearm sights, triggers, safeties, and hunting silencers, reflecting a long-standing focus on mechanical components for sporting and hunting firearms.

For this product category, Recknagel is particularly known for its expertise in mounting systems, from traditional hunting mounts to more modern solutions. The company introduced the ERATAC line of tactical mounts and accessories in 2010, showing that its engineering extends beyond classic hunting applications. Recknagel relocated from Schweinfurt to Bergrheinfeld in 2006, and in 2022 the company was acquired by Dr. Moritz Fehrer. That combination of long manufacturing history and continued product development makes the brand especially relevant in the field of riflescope mounting hardware.
