Primary Arms 4-14X Sun Shade

• Reduced glare: A sun shade extends the front of the riflescope to cut stray light before it reaches the objective lens, helping maintain contrast when shooting toward low sun or across bright open ground.
• Better image consistency: By limiting veiling glare and internal reflections, it helps the scope deliver a cleaner sight picture, which is useful when reading targets and holding precisely at distance.
• Purpose-built 4-14x compatibility: Designed for Primary Arms 4-14x riflescopes, it gives a matched fit instead of a generic workaround, so the accessory integrates neatly with the optic.
• Lightweight construction: At 90.00 g, it adds useful lens shading without noticeably changing the balance of a rifle set up for field or range use.
• Simple protective addition: The extended front profile also gives the objective area an extra measure of shielding from light rain, dust, and incidental contact in transport or on the firing line.

About the Primary Arms Accessories Series

Primary Arms Accessories is the support line built around the company’s optics range, covering the practical add-ons that help a sighting system work better in real conditions. Rather than changing the core optic, these accessories focus on solving common field problems such as glare, lens exposure, handling, and mounting integration. In the context of hunting optics and tactical optics, that matters because small improvements in image clarity and equipment handling often make a noticeable difference once lighting becomes difficult or shooting positions become less controlled.

Within the lineup, the series sits alongside PLx, GLx, SLx, and CLx optics as the hardware that supports day-to-day use. The design approach is straightforward: keep the accessory specific to the optic it is meant to serve, keep weight reasonable, and make installation uncomplicated. For riflescope users, that means items such as sun shades are intended to preserve image contrast and reduce distracting reflections without adding unnecessary bulk. The result is a more complete optic setup that stays practical for range work, hunting, and general-purpose rifle use.

About the Primary Arms 4-14X Sun Shade

The Primary Arms 4-14X Sun Shade is a riflescope accessory made to improve viewing conditions when bright ambient light would otherwise wash out the image. By extending the front of the optic, it reduces the amount of off-axis light entering the objective lens. In practical use, that helps preserve contrast and makes the sight picture easier to read when the sun is low, when the firing position faces a bright horizon, or when reflective terrain creates glare. For shooters using a 4-14x scope for target work, varmint shooting, or general mid-range precision, that cleaner image can make aiming feel more settled and less distracting.

Because this is a dedicated Primary Arms accessory for 4-14x riflescopes, it suits users who want a matched solution rather than an improvised fit. Its 90.00 g weight keeps the addition modest, so the rifle remains manageable on the bench or in the field. The black finish also keeps the accessory visually consistent with most scope bodies and rifle setups. Beyond glare control, the added extension at the objective end provides a bit more shielding from dust, light precipitation, and incidental contact, which is useful when the rifle is carried between positions or stored with other gear. It is a simple accessory, but one that addresses a real optical issue in bright conditions.

About Primary Arms

Primary Arms Optics was founded in 2008 and has grown into a broad optics brand with products that include rifle scopes, prism scopes, red dot sights, mounts, and accessories. The company’s lineup is organized into the PLx, GLx, SLx, and CLx families, giving it coverage from entry-level and general-purpose use through to more specialized shooting applications. That broad catalog is one reason Primary Arms has become a familiar name in modern sporting and tactical optics.

A defining part of the brand is the ACSS reticle system, which is one of its best-known in-house technologies. Primary Arms also uses features such as AutoLive motion-sensing illumination in parts of its optics range. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, United States, the company designs and manufactures optics while also operating e-commerce, wholesale distribution, and government sales divisions.
