Meprolight Tru-Dot for Springfield in .45 ACP

• Self-illuminated tritium system: The Tru-Dot sight picture stays visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the pistol remains ready at any hour with no switches or charging routine.
• Three-dot alignment: A familiar 3-dot layout helps the eye pick up the front and rear sights quickly, supporting faster alignment for defensive use and routine carry.
• Fixed steel construction: The steel body gives these handgun night sights the durability needed for daily holster use while keeping the sight picture consistent once installed.
• Direct replacement format: The Meprolight Tru-Dot design is made as a replacement for compatible factory sights, giving Springfield owners a straightforward upgrade to day-and-night visibility.
• Square rear sight: The square rear profile provides a clean, conventional notch picture that many shooters prefer for quick centering and predictable sight alignment.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot is the company’s established family of self-illuminated handgun night sights, built for shooters who want a simple iron-sight system that works in both daylight and reduced light. In Meprolight’s handgun lineup, the series covers a broad range of applications with fixed, adjustable, and suppressor-height variants, allowing the same core concept to serve defensive pistols, duty handguns, and specialized setups. The defining feature is the three-dot tritium sight picture, which is intended to remain consistent from bright conditions into low-light environments without relying on batteries.

Across the series, Tru-Dot sights are designed as replacements for factory front and rear sights on compatible pistols, making them a practical upgrade for shooters who prefer a conventional iron-sight layout with improved visibility. Selected models are offered with different tritium dot color combinations, while adjustable versions add windage and elevation correction and suppressor-height models are configured for compatible handguns with taller sight requirements. The result is a handgun sight family focused on familiar alignment, constant readiness, and durable construction for everyday carry, service use, and general shooting.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for Springfield in .45 ACP

The Meprolight Tru-Dot for Springfield in .45 ACP is a dedicated set of fixed tritium night sights for compatible Springfield pistols chambered in .45 ACP. Its main advantage is straightforward: it preserves the familiar handling of a conventional pistol sight system while adding a sight picture that remains visible when ambient light drops. For defensive carry, home protection, or range practice that extends into dim conditions, that means the pistol keeps a usable aiming reference without depending on electronics.

The sight set uses a 3-dot alignment pattern with a square rear sight, a combination many shooters know well from standard service-style handguns. In practical use, this layout helps the eye center the front sight quickly and keeps the rear picture uncluttered, which is useful when speed matters. Because the sights are self-illuminated, there is nothing to activate and no battery compartment to monitor, so the pistol remains ready in storage, on the belt, or during low-light transitions.

Its steel construction supports long-term durability under regular holster wear and routine handling, while the fixed adjustment format favors simplicity and stability over added controls. That makes this Springfield sight set especially suitable for shooters who want a robust, low-maintenance iron-sight upgrade rather than a more complex adjustable arrangement. As a handgun night sight, it is built around dependable visibility, familiar alignment, and practical everyday use.
