Meprolight HVS for Taurus C3C/ G2C, front sight

• Self-Illuminated Tritium: The front sight stays visible in low light and darkness without batteries, giving the pistol a constant aiming reference for defensive use, carry, and range practice.
• High-Visibility Front Sight Design: As part of the Meprolight HVS family, this front sight is built to stand out quickly in changing light, helping the eye pick up the front blade faster during rapid presentations.
• Steel Construction: A steel body handles daily holster wear, recoil, and hard use better than softer materials, making it a practical upgrade for a working or carry handgun.
• Fixed Sight Configuration: The fixed design keeps the setup simple and durable, with no adjustment controls to snag or shift during regular carry or repeated shooting.
• Dedicated Taurus Fit: Built for the Taurus C3C and G2C platform, this front sight is intended as a model-specific replacement part rather than a generic compromise fit.

About the Meprolight HVS Series

The Meprolight HVS series, later renamed Hyper-Bright in 2021, was developed as a handgun sight family that puts fast front-sight acquisition at the center of the design. Introduced around the 2020 SHOT Show, the series combines self-illuminated tritium with a highly visible front-sight concept so the sights remain useful in both daylight and low-light conditions without relying on batteries.

Within Meprolight’s handgun lineup, the HVS/Hyper-Bright family serves shooters who want a practical upgrade for defensive pistols, duty handguns, and everyday carry guns. The sights use steel construction and a fixed configuration, emphasizing durability and a familiar handling feel over complex adjustment systems. Across the series, Meprolight offered front-sight contrast ring colors such as orange, green, and yellow, giving shooters different visibility preferences for daylight use. In full sight sets, the family uses a three-dot sight picture with a U-shaped rear notch, a layout intended to help the eye center the front sight quickly while preserving a clear view of the target area.

About the Meprolight HVS for Taurus C3C/ G2C, front sight

The Meprolight HVS for Taurus C3C/ G2C front sight is a dedicated front-sight replacement for shooters who want a more visible aiming reference on a compact defensive pistol. Because this model is a front sight only, it is especially relevant when replacing a worn or damaged original part, or when building a sight setup around a preferred rear sight arrangement. On compact handguns such as the Taurus C3C and G2C, a front sight that is easy to find matters because the shorter sight radius makes sight alignment errors show up more quickly.

The key functional advantage here is the self-illuminated tritium system. It keeps the front aiming point visible in dim interiors, nighttime conditions, and transitional light without switches or batteries. That makes the pistol simpler to keep ready for defensive use, since the sight is always on and does not depend on ambient light alone. In brighter conditions, the HVS concept is designed to keep the front sight visually prominent so the shooter’s focus naturally returns to the front blade during fast strings or draw-to-first-shot work.

Its steel construction supports long-term use on a carry pistol, where repeated holstering, recoil, and general handling can quickly expose weaknesses in lighter-duty parts. The fixed configuration also suits a practical handgun setup: it keeps the profile clean, avoids unnecessary controls, and favors reliability for routine carry, training, and defensive shooting.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, the company develops and manufactures optical and electro-optical sighting systems for military, law-enforcement, and civilian users. It is a division of SK Group.

Meprolight’s product range covers sighting systems for pistols, rifles, shotguns, and carbines, along with magnified optics, magnifiers, night-vision systems, and thermal devices. In the handgun-sight category, the brand is particularly known for its self-illuminated tritium products, combining practical low-light capability with robust construction suited to service and defensive firearms. That background is directly relevant to the HVS series, which reflects Meprolight’s long focus on durable sights built for fast target acquisition in real-world lighting conditions.
