Levenhuk Sherman BASE 10x42

• 10x42 configuration: The 10x magnification brings distant subjects closer without moving into the bulk of larger full-size binoculars, while the 42 mm objectives gather enough light for general daytime use, woodland observation, and the last brighter minutes of the day.
• Porro prism optical system: The classic Porro design helps deliver a spacious, three-dimensional view and good image depth, which makes it easier to separate birds, game, or landscape details from the background.
• Fully multi-coated optics: Multi-coated lenses improve light transmission and contrast, so the image looks clearer and less washed out in mixed light, overcast weather, or when observing into shadow.
• Waterproof nitrogen-filled housing: The sealed aluminum body resists rain and damp conditions, while nitrogen filling helps prevent internal fogging when moving between cold air and warmer environments.
• Field-ready handling: Central focusing, right-eye diopter adjustment, and tripod adaptability make the binoculars easy to tune to individual eyesight and comfortable to use for both quick scans and longer observation sessions.

About the Levenhuk Sherman Series

The Levenhuk Sherman series was introduced in 2015 as the successor to the company’s earlier Bino and Energy binocular lines. It is built around a Porro prism layout and aimed at practical outdoor use, including hunting, fishing, wildlife observation, and travel. Across the range, the design focus is straightforward field usability: a classic binocular shape that is easy to hold steadily, optics intended for broad outdoor observation, and housings made to cope with wet and changeable weather.

Within the family, Sherman binoculars share multi-coated optics, nitrogen-filled waterproof construction, and an emphasis on dependable viewing rather than compact pocket size. The range includes BASE, PLUS, and PRO variants, each positioned for a different level of optical and mechanical refinement, while later New Sherman versions expand the line further. In practical terms, the Sherman series suits users who want traditional binocular handling, solid weather protection, and the depth perception that many observers still prefer from Porro prism binoculars for scanning woodland, open country, and water.

About the Levenhuk Sherman BASE 10x42

The Levenhuk Sherman BASE 10x42 is a classic full-size binocular built for general outdoor observation where a balanced specification matters more than extreme compactness or very high magnification. Its 10x magnification gives enough reach for identifying wildlife, following birds across open ground, or scanning distant terrain, while the 42 mm objective lenses keep the instrument manageable in size and weight. That makes it a sensible fit for hunting optics, bird watching, and travel use where the binocular may be carried for long periods.

The Porro prism design contributes to a naturally spacious image and good visual separation between subject and background, which is especially useful when observing animals in brush, tree lines, or uneven terrain. Fully multi-coated optics help preserve contrast and image brightness, and the 114.00 m/1000m field of view is wide enough for searching and tracking moving subjects without feeling overly restricted. A 4.20 mm exit pupil supports comfortable daytime viewing and remains practical in lower light than compact binoculars with smaller objectives.

In use, the binocular is set up for straightforward adjustment. Central focusing allows quick changes from near to far subjects, while the right-eyepiece diopter adjustment of +/-6 helps match the view to differences between the user’s eyes. The 15.00 mm eye relief is workable for many users, and the aluminum housing keeps the body solid without excessive weight at 620.00 g. Waterproof, fogproof construction with nitrogen filling adds reliability in rain, cold mornings, and changing temperatures, and tripod adaptability is useful for longer stationary observation sessions.

About Levenhuk

Levenhuk began operations in 2002, initially focusing on markets outside the United States. The company describes itself as an American manufacturer of optical instruments with headquarters in Tampa, Florida, and states that its manufacturing facilities are in China. Its product range covers binoculars, spotting scopes, telescopes, monoculars, and microscopes, giving the brand a broad presence across both recreational and observation-focused optics.

Within binoculars, Levenhuk has developed several distinct product families, including Atom, Karma, Sherman, and Vegas. The lineup spans straightforward field binoculars through to more specialized models, such as Vegas ED binoculars that use extra-low-dispersion glass to reduce color fringing and optical aberrations. Beyond conventional optics, the company also offers thermal and digital night-vision devices, which shows a wider focus on observation equipment rather than a single niche category.
