Hawke XB30 2-8x36 Zoom FFP

• First Focal Plane Reticle — Accurate Holdovers at Any Magnification: The XB30 Zoom FFP reticle is positioned in the first focal plane, scaling proportionally with magnification across the full 2–8× range. Unlike traditional crossbow scopes where distance holdover marks are only correct at a single, fixed magnification setting, the FFP design keeps all holdover marks accurate at every zoom level — allowing the shooter to use 2× for close-range shots and 8× for longer distances without recalibrating the scope or changing its position on the zoom ring.
• Three Speed-Calibrated Variants Covering 385–510fps: The scope is available in three variants, each with the FFP reticle calibrated to a specific crossbow speed range: 385–420fps (art. no. 12320), 425–465fps (art. no. 12321), and 470–510fps (art. no. 12322). Selecting the correct variant for the crossbow's rated speed ensures the distance holdover marks on the reticle correspond accurately to the bolt's actual trajectory at each distance, providing the maximum benefit of the FFP holdover system across the full magnification range.
• H7 Optical System with 21-Layer Crown Glass Lenses: The XB30 Zoom FFP is the only crossbow scope in the Hawke lineup built on the H7 optical system — the same glass specification used in Hawke's flagship Frontier riflescope range — rather than the H2 system used in all other Hawke crossbow scopes. The 21-layer fully multi-coated Crown glass lenses provide high light transmission and optical clarity, combined with an ultra-wide field of view of 23.4 metres at 100 metres at minimum magnification that supports fast target acquisition in woodland and field hunting situations.
• Removable Zoom Throw Lever on 30mm Chassis: The 30mm mono-tube chassis incorporates a removable zoom throw lever on the magnification ring, enabling fast, positive zoom changes between close-range and longer-range shots without removing the hand from the foregrip. The 30mm tube is also the largest in the Hawke crossbow scope lineup, providing a broader internal diameter for the FFP optical system and the wide-angle field of view.
• Exceptionally Compact Build at 247mm: At just 247 mm in length and 455 g, the XB30 Zoom FFP is compact enough to fit the shorter rail lengths common on modern compact and reverse-draw crossbows, while the 70mm of eye relief and fixed parallax at 46 metres are matched to typical crossbow hunting engagement distances and mounting positions.

About the Hawke XB30 Zoom FFP Series

The Hawke XB30 Zoom FFP is Hawke's highest-specification crossbow scope sub-series, positioned above the H2-based XB30 and XB30 Pro models as the premium option in the Hawke crossbow scope range. It is the only Hawke crossbow scope built on the H7 optical system with 21-layer fully multi-coated Crown glass lenses, and the only crossbow scope in the lineup to use a first focal plane (FFP) reticle.

The defining characteristic of the XB30 Zoom FFP series is the FFP reticle design, which resolves the fundamental limitation of traditional crossbow scopes: holdover marks that are only accurate at one fixed magnification. With the FFP system, the distance holdover marks on the reticle scale with magnification and remain correct throughout the full 2–8× range, allowing the shooter to zoom freely without compromising reticle accuracy. The series is available in three speed-calibrated variants — covering speeds from 385fps to 510fps — so the holdover marks can be matched to the specific crossbow being used.

All XB30 Zoom FFP models share the same optical and mechanical specification, with the sole difference between variants being the speed calibration of the reticle holdover marks.

About the Model (Hawke XB30 Zoom FFP 2-8x36)

The Hawke XB30 Zoom FFP 2-8x36 is a first focal plane crossbow scope designed for crossbow hunters who want to use variable magnification freely without being constrained by the speed ring setting of a traditional crossbow scope. The 2–8× magnification range with a 4× zoom ratio provides a field of view of 23.4 metres at 100 metres at 2× — broad enough for fast target acquisition in dense woodland — while the 8× upper end delivers the image detail needed for precise bolt placement at the longer ethical hunting distances that modern high-speed crossbows make possible.

The H7 optical system with 21-layer fully multi-coated Crown glass lenses — high-grade, low-dispersion glass — delivers high light transmission and a sharp image across the full magnification range. An exit pupil of 18mm at 2× ensures a large, bright sight picture at low power in the low-light conditions of early morning and late evening hunts. The 70mm of eye relief provides adequate clearance from the eyepiece on discharge and the fixed parallax at 46 metres is optimised for typical crossbow hunting distances.

The XB30 Zoom FFP reticle is calibrated to match the bolt trajectory of the specific crossbow speed range — 385–420fps (art. no. 12320), 425–465fps (art. no. 12321), or 470–510fps (art. no. 12322) — with holdover marks that remain accurate at every magnification setting throughout the 2–8× range. The reticle is illuminated in red and green with 5 brightness levels and off positions between each step. The capped, low-profile, resettable turrets provide 120 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment in ½ MOA click increments. The included removable zoom throw lever enables fast magnification changes without repositioning. The mono-tube is nitrogen purged and fully sealed, providing waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof performance. Overall length is 247 mm and weight is 455 g.

About Hawke

Hawke Optics is a British optics brand registered in England and Wales, with products distributed across Europe, North America, and international markets. The company produces a broad range of optical products including riflescopes, airgun scopes, crossbow scopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, red dot sights, and laser rangefinders, covering applications from hunting and precision shooting to nature observation and marine use.

Hawke organises its scope lineup into distinct optical system tiers — from the entry-level H2 through H5 to the flagship H7 — with each tier reflecting the glass specification, coating technology, and mechanical feature level of the products within it. The H7 system represents the highest optical specification in the Hawke range and is used in the Frontier riflescope series and the XB30 Zoom FFP crossbow scope range.
