Hawke Vantage 30 WA 4-12x42 Product description

  • 6.5 Creedmoor Marksman Reticle Calibrated at 12×: The 6.5 Creedmoor Marksman reticle is a second focal plane design with holdover aim points calculated specifically for the ballistic trajectory of the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge, calibrated at 12× — the scope's maximum magnification. At this reference power, each holdover mark corresponds directly to a calculated distance for the 6.5 Creedmoor, allowing the shooter to engage targets at known ranges using the appropriate holdover point without dialling the turrets between shots.
  • Exposed Locking Resettable Turrets: Unlike the capped turret models elsewhere in the Vantage 30 WA lineup, this model features exposed, locking, resettable turrets, providing direct field access to adjustments while the locking function protects the zero from accidental movement. Each turret offers 130 MOA of total travel in ¼ MOA click increments.
  • Fixed Parallax at 137 Metres: The parallax is fixed at 137 metres rather than the standard 91 metres used on most other Vantage 30 WA models. This distance is optimised for the typical engagement ranges of the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge, where the shooter is more likely to be engaging targets at medium to longer distances rather than close range.
  • Wide Field of View with H2 Optical System: The H2 optical system delivers a field of view of 13 metres at 100 metres at minimum magnification — a notably broad sight picture for a 4–12× scope — supporting fast target identification before increasing magnification for the shot. The 42mm objective with 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses provides an exit pupil of 10.5 mm at 4× for adequate image brightness across varied lighting conditions.
  • Removable Zoom Throw Lever Included: A zoom throw lever is supplied as standard, enabling rapid magnification changes without breaking cheek weld — useful when transitioning between observation at lower power and precise shot placement at the scope's upper magnification.

About the Vantage Series

The Hawke Vantage series is the broadest riflescope lineup in Hawke's product range, built on the H2 optical system and covering a wide variety of tube diameters, magnification ranges, and reticle configurations at an accessible price point. The range is designed for hunters, target shooters, and recreational shooters who require a reliable, versatile optic without the cost associated with higher-tier optical systems.

All Vantage models feature 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses delivering consistent light transmission and a wide-angle field of view. The lineup spans standard 1-inch, 30mm, and 34mm mono-tube chassis, covering first and second focal plane optics, side focus and fixed parallax variants, illuminated and non-illuminated reticles, and a broad selection of reticle designs including calibre-specific variants for cartridges such as 6.5 Creedmoor, .223 Rem, .308 Win, and rimfire. The Vantage 30 WA sub-series is characterised by its wide-angle optical design, which delivers a substantially broader field of view at minimum magnification than standard optical configurations in the same magnification classes.

About the Model (Hawke Vantage 30 WA 4-12x42 6.5 Creedmoor Marksman)

The Hawke Vantage 30 WA 4-12x42 6.5 Creedmoor Marksman is a second focal plane riflescope designed specifically for use with the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge, combining a calibre-specific reticle with exposed locking turrets and a parallax setting optimised for the cartridge's typical engagement distances. The 4–12× magnification range provides a 3× zoom ratio with a field of view of 13 metres at 100 metres at minimum power — broad enough for target identification and situational awareness at moderate distances — and a 12× upper end that delivers adequate image resolution for confident shot placement at the extended ranges where the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge is commonly used.

The 42mm objective lens, combined with the H2 optical system and 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses, provides consistent light transmission and a clear image across the magnification range. An exit pupil of 10.5 mm at 4× supports adequate image brightness in varied field conditions. The 90mm of eye relief is compatible with a wide range of centrefire platforms.

The 6.5 Creedmoor Marksman reticle is calibrated at 12×, with holdover marks positioned to match the trajectory of the 6.5 Creedmoor at that reference magnification. The reticle is illuminated in red and green with 5 brightness levels and off positions between each step. The exposed, locking, resettable turrets provide 130 MOA of elevation and windage travel in ¼ MOA click increments, allowing the shooter to dial precise corrections when needed in addition to using the reticle holdovers. The parallax is fixed at 137 metres, optimised for medium to longer-range 6.5 Creedmoor use. The fast-focus eyebell allows rapid dioptre adjustment, and the included zoom throw lever enables fast magnification changes without breaking cheek weld. The mono-tube is nitrogen purged and fully sealed, providing waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof performance rated for all calibres. Overall length is 329 mm and weight is 565 g.

About Hawke

Hawke Optics is a British optics brand registered in England and Wales, with products distributed across Europe, North America, and international markets. The company produces a broad range of optical products including riflescopes, airgun scopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, red dot sights, and laser rangefinders, covering applications from hunting and precision shooting to nature observation and marine use.

Hawke organises its riflescope lineup into distinct optical system tiers — from the entry-level H2 through H5 to the flagship H7 — with each tier reflecting the glass specification, coating technology, and mechanical feature level of the products within it. The Vantage series is built on the H2 system, representing the entry level of Hawke's riflescope range and providing an extensive selection of configurations at an accessible price point.
