Hawke Vantage 30 WA SF IR 4-16x50 Product description

  • Rimfire .17 HMR Specific Reticle: The Rimfire .17 HMR reticle is a second focal plane design with holdover aim points calculated specifically for the ballistic trajectory of the .17 HMR cartridge, calibrated at 16× — the scope's maximum magnification. At this reference power, each holdover mark corresponds directly to a calculated distance for the .17 HMR, allowing the shooter to apply accurate holdovers at known distances without dialling the turrets or consulting separate ballistic tables.
  • Dual-Colour Illumination with Side Focus Parallax: The reticle is illuminated in red and green across 5 brightness levels with off positions between each step, controlled via a stepped rheostat. The side-mounted parallax knob covers 9 metres to infinity, allowing precise parallax correction across the close to medium distances typical of .17 HMR use without breaking the firing position.
  • Exposed Locking Resettable Turrets: The exposed, locking, resettable turrets offer 96 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment in ¼ MOA click increments, giving the shooter direct field access to adjustments while the locking function protects the zero from accidental movement between sessions.
  • H2 Optical System with Wide Field of View: The H2 optical system with 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses and 50mm objective delivers a field of view of 9.6 metres at 100 metres at minimum magnification, providing good situational awareness at the close to medium ranges where .17 HMR is most commonly used. An exit pupil of 12.5 mm at 4× supports image brightness in varied lighting conditions.
  • Compact Build Suited to Rimfire Platforms: At 347 mm in length and 740 g, the scope is proportioned for use on rimfire rifles without adding excessive weight, while the 30mm mono-tube provides a stable platform and broad compatibility with standard ring mounts.

About the Vantage Series

The Hawke Vantage series is the broadest riflescope lineup in Hawke's product range, built on the H2 optical system and covering a wide variety of tube diameters, magnification ranges, and reticle configurations at an accessible price point. The range is designed for hunters, target shooters, and recreational shooters who require a reliable, versatile optic without the cost associated with higher-tier optical systems.

All Vantage models feature 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses delivering consistent light transmission and a wide-angle field of view. The lineup spans standard 1-inch, 30mm, and 34mm mono-tube chassis, covering first and second focal plane optics, side focus and fixed parallax variants, illuminated and non-illuminated reticles, and a broad selection of reticle designs — including calibre-specific variants for rimfire and centrefire cartridges. The Vantage 30 WA SF IR sub-series adds side focus parallax adjustment, dual-colour illumination, and exposed locking turrets to the core Vantage platform, making it the most mechanically specified configuration within the Vantage 30 range.

About the Model (Hawke Vantage 30 WA SF IR 4-16x50 Rimfire .17 HMR)

The Hawke Vantage 30 WA SF IR 4-16x50 Rimfire .17 HMR is a second focal plane riflescope designed specifically for .17 HMR rimfire shooting, where the calibre-specific reticle removes the need for manual ballistic calculation or turret adjustment at known distances. The 4–16× magnification range with a field of view of 9.6 metres at 100 metres at minimum power covers the close to medium distances typical of .17 HMR use in varminting and small game hunting, while the 16× upper end provides adequate image resolution for precise shot placement at the cartridge's effective range.

The Rimfire .17 HMR reticle is calibrated at 16×, with holdover marks positioned to match the trajectory of the .17 HMR cartridge at that reference magnification. This allows the shooter to engage targets at varying distances using the appropriate holdover point rather than adjusting the turrets between shots — a practical advantage in varminting scenarios where multiple targets may be engaged quickly at different ranges. The reticle is illuminated in red and green with 5 brightness levels and off positions between each step.

The 50mm objective lens, combined with the H2 optical system and 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses, delivers a bright, clear image across the magnification range. An exit pupil of 12.5 mm at 4× supports image brightness in low-light conditions. The exposed, locking, resettable turrets provide 96 MOA of adjustment in ¼ MOA increments, with the locking function protecting the zero during carry and between shooting sessions. Side-mounted parallax adjustment covers 9 metres to infinity. The fast-focus eyebell allows rapid dioptre adjustment. The mono-tube is nitrogen purged and fully sealed, providing waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof performance. Overall length is 347 mm and weight is 740 g.

About Hawke

Hawke Optics is a British optics brand registered in England and Wales, with products distributed across Europe, North America, and international markets. The company produces a broad range of optical products including riflescopes, airgun scopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, red dot sights, and laser rangefinders, covering applications from hunting and precision shooting to nature observation and marine use.

Hawke organises its riflescope lineup into distinct optical system tiers — from the entry-level H2 through H5 to the flagship H7 — with each tier reflecting the glass specification, coating technology, and mechanical feature level of the products within it. The Vantage series is built on the H2 system, representing the entry level of Hawke's riflescope range and providing an extensive selection of configurations at an accessible price point.

How many clicks to the inch for the 0.10 mill scope

by Brian

Dear Sir,

thank you for contacting us.

If you are referring to how many clicks are needed to move the point of impact for 1 inch with the 0.10MIL adjustment per click on turrets it is 2.5 clicks but you can not do a 0.5 click so you have to adjust it either with 2 clicks or 3. If that is not what you had in mind we would kindly like to ask you to specify your question a bit more at [email protected]

Thank you for your understanding.

If you will need any additional information please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Kind Regards
