ERA-TAC HK-Style Back-up sight (Kit) 1.35mm post

• Spring-loaded folding design: The sights fold down automatically under impact instead of standing proud on the rifle, which helps protect them from damage during transport, field use, and hard handling.
• HK-style 1.35 mm front post: The finer front post supports more precise alignment than a thicker post, making it easier to hold on smaller targets while keeping the familiar HK-style sight picture.
• Dual ghost-ring rear sight: Two apertures, 5 mm and 1.7 mm, sit on the same plane, giving a fast option for close work and a tighter option for more deliberate aiming without changing the overall setup.
• Ultra-low folded profile: With a folded height of only 9 mm / 0.35”, the sight stays out of the way under optics and reduces the chance of snagging on gear or cases.
• Tool-free replaceable posts: The front sight can be adjusted in height and the post can be replaced without tools, which simplifies zeroing and lets the sight be adapted to different preferences or roles.

About the ERA-TAC Accessories Series

ERA-TAC Accessories is the support line around the brand’s tactical mounting systems, built for shooters who need practical add-ons rather than decorative extras. The series grew out of the ERATAC tactical program introduced in 2010 for civilian users and law-enforcement applications, and it focuses on robust interface parts, backup sights, rails, adapters, and related weapon accessories. A defining trait across the range is a clear emphasis on field utility: components are compact, mechanically straightforward, and designed to integrate cleanly with Picatinny-based rifles and optics setups.

Within the series, the backup sights stand out for their spring-loaded folding mechanism and tool-free height adjustment, features that make them suitable as emergency sights on rifles already equipped with magnified optics or red dots. The line also includes variants for different sight pictures, including standard and HK-style front sights, as well as different post widths to suit either faster acquisition or finer aiming. In practical terms, the series is aimed at users who want dependable iron sights and mounting accessories that stay compact on the rifle, tolerate hard use, and remain easy to configure without unnecessary complexity.

About the ERA-TAC HK-Style Back-up sight (Kit) 1.35mm post

The ERA-TAC HK-Style Back-up sight (Kit) 1.35mm post is a folding iron-sight set for rifles with a Picatinny rail, intended as a compact mechanical fallback when an optic is removed, damaged, or unsuitable for the distance at hand. Its main distinction is the combination of an HK-style front sight and a 1.35 mm / 0.05“ post, which gives a more precise aiming reference than a broader post while preserving the familiar protective hooded layout many shooters prefer for rapid alignment.

The rear unit uses two ghost rings, 5 mm and 1.7 mm, on the same plane. In practice, that gives the shooter a more open aperture for speed at short range and a tighter aperture for more careful shot placement, without changing the sight height or overall handling. The spring-loaded folding mechanism is equally important: when the sights are not needed, they sit low and protected, and when folded down they add only 9 mm / 0.35” of height. That low profile helps them coexist with optics and reduces snagging during transport or movement.

ERA-TAC also builds this sight set with practical serviceability in mind. The front post is replaceable and adjustable in height without tools, so zeroing and maintenance stay simple in the workshop or in the field. Combined with the black anodized aluminium construction and corrosion-resistant surface treatment, the kit suits hard-use rifles that need a durable backup sighting system rather than a bulky add-on.

About ERA-TAC

ERATAC is a brand of Recknagel GmbH & Co. KG, a German manufacturer based in Bergrheinfeld. Recknagel was founded in 1867 in Albrechts near Suhl, Thuringia, and later relocated to Schweinfurt in 1948 before moving to Bergrheinfeld in 2006. The company has long specialized in firearm-related components and accessories for hunting, sport, and tactical firearms.

The ERATAC line was introduced in 2010 to cover tactical mounts and accessories for civilian and military markets. The range includes riflescope mounts, Picatinny rails, backup sights, and related weapon accessories, with a strong focus on precise machining and durable finishes. ERATAC products are known for being machined from solid aluminum and hard-anodized to Mil-Spec Type III, a combination that fits demanding optics and weapon-mounting applications where repeatability, strength, and resistance to wear matter.
