EAW pivot mount, 26 mm, Saxonia Sniper

• Repeatable return to zero: The pivot design lets the scope be removed and reattached without shifting point of impact, which is valuable when switching optics or transporting the rifle.
• 26 mm ring interface: Built for scopes with a 26 mm main tube, this mount gives a secure, model-specific fit for classic optics that still need dependable alignment.
• Adjustable front and rear fit: The mount-foot interfaces can be tuned during installation, helping the gunsmith achieve proper tension and a precise, stress-free fit on the rifle.
• Steel construction: A steel body adds rigidity and wear resistance, supporting long service life on a hunting or sporting rifle that sees repeated mounting cycles.
• Rifle-specific lower fit: Made for the Saxonia Sniper, this pivot mount matches the rifle platform directly, which simplifies installation planning and preserves the low, stable character expected from a dedicated mount.

About the EAW Pivot Mounts Series

EAW Pivot Mounts are the company’s long-established quick-detachable scope mounting system, developed and launched more than 50 years ago. Within the EAW lineup, they sit as a traditional and highly practical solution for hunters and rifle owners who want a mount that can be removed and reattached while maintaining a consistent zero. That repeatability is one of the defining traits of the series and one of the reasons pivot mounts remain popular on sporting rifles and other long guns.

The series is built around a mechanical design with adjustable front and rear mount-foot fits, allowing careful fitting during installation. This helps create a secure, tension-free connection between rifle and optic, which is important for consistent accuracy over repeated use. EAW also positions the pivot system as a flexible choice for shooters who may use a second scope or aiming device, since the mount is intended to return to the same point of impact after removal and reattachment. Across the range, the emphasis is on rifle-specific fit, durable all-metal construction, and a mounting concept that balances traditional form with practical repeat precision.

About the EAW pivot mount, 26 mm, Saxonia Sniper

The EAW pivot mount, 26 mm, Saxonia Sniper is a rifle-specific steel mount for pairing a 26 mm riflescope with the Saxonia Sniper platform. Its main advantage is not simply that it holds an optic, but that it does so in a way that supports repeatable removal and reinstallation. For shooters who need to take the scope off for transport, maintenance, or a change of sighting setup, that repeatability is the practical reason to choose a pivot mount over a fixed arrangement.

The use of steel construction gives the mount the stiffness and long-term wear resistance expected from a component that must keep its fit over many locking cycles. On a working rifle, that matters because the mount has to resist loosening, deformation, and gradual changes in alignment that can affect zero retention. The dedicated lower fit for the Saxonia Sniper also matters in practice: a model-specific interface supports proper seating on the rifle and helps preserve the stable geometry needed for consistent scope alignment.

Because this version is configured for a 26 mm scope tube, it is especially relevant for classic European riflescopes and other optics built around that tube diameter. Combined with the adjustable front and rear fit characteristic of the EAW pivot system, the mount gives the installer room to achieve correct engagement and dependable locking. The result is a traditional quick-detachable mounting solution suited to hunting optics and sporting rifles where repeat precision and mechanical durability are more important than unnecessary complexity.

About EAW

EAW traces its origins to 1919, when Ernst Apel founded the company in Würzburg, Germany. The business later took on the EAW name, meaning Ernst Apel Würzburg, and it has been closely associated with German scope-mount engineering ever since. EAW developed and produced its first riflescope mounts in 1945, and since 1951 the development and production of riflescope mounts have been the company’s primary focus.

Today, EAW is known for manufacturing pivot, slide-on or roll-off, and claw mounts for riflescopes, alongside thermal imaging products and more recent tactical mounting solutions. Production moved from Würzburg to Gerbrunn in 1970, and the company is now headquartered in Eibelstadt, Germany. In practical terms, EAW’s reputation in this category comes from its long specialization in repeatable, rifle-specific mounting systems built for sporting and precision rifle use.
