Discovery Optics VT-Z 6-24x42 SFIR

• 6-24x magnification range: This wide zoom span covers precise rimfire and target work from shorter distances out to small targets farther downrange, so the scope remains useful across load testing, bench shooting, and varmint-style use.
• Side-focus parallax adjustment: Adjustable from 9.14 m to inf., the side-focus system helps keep the target and reticle on the same visual plane, which supports more consistent shot placement at changing distances.
• Illuminated reticle: The red and green illumination improves reticle visibility against dark backgrounds or in mixed light, making the aiming point easier to pick up without overpowering the sight picture.
• Fully multicoated optics: Lens coatings help maintain image brightness and contrast through the 6-24x42 optical system, which is especially useful when aiming at fine details or small targets.
• Nitrogen-filled weather-resistant construction: A waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof build with nitrogen filling helps the scope stay usable through temperature changes, damp conditions, and regular field handling.

About the Discovery Optics VT-Z Series

The Discovery Optics VT-Z series is a family of riflescopes built to cover practical hunting and airgun use while offering a broader choice of formats than a single-purpose line. The series includes both fixed-power and variable-power models, with examples ranging from compact 4x scopes to variable configurations such as 3-12x, 4-16x, and 6-24x. That spread gives the VT-Z range a flexible role in the Discovery Optics catalog, from straightforward field use to more deliberate target shooting.

Within the series, Discovery Optics offers both first-focal-plane and second-focal-plane layouts, along with illuminated and non-illuminated versions. Some VT-Z models also use side-parallax focusing, which is especially useful when the scope is expected to work across varied distances. Reticle choices include MIL-DOT and MIL-line designs, giving shooters options for either familiar holdover references or a cleaner aiming view. Overall, the VT-Z family is defined by practical feature sets, conventional riflescope handling, and model variations that suit air rifles, rimfire rifles, and general-purpose hunting optics.

About the Discovery Optics VT-Z 6-24x42 SFIR

The Discovery Optics VT-Z 6-24x42 SFIR is a variable-power riflescope aimed at shooters who need more precision than a low-power hunting optic can provide, but still want a manageable size and weight. Its 6-24x magnification range is well suited to rimfire shooting, target practice, and small-target work where seeing exact point of aim matters. At lower magnification it remains usable for closer setups, while the upper end helps when checking groups, refining hold, or working on distant targets.

The 42 mm objective lens keeps the scope relatively trim while still providing enough light for daylight target use, and the fully multicoated lenses support a clear, contrast-rich image that helps separate fine target details from the background. The side-focus parallax adjustment, adjustable from 9.14 m to inf., is one of the key practical features on this model because it allows the image to be tuned for distance without breaking shooting position. That matters when moving between short and extended ranges, especially on rimfire rifles or airgun setups where target distance changes frequently.

This model also uses an illuminated reticle with red and green settings, which helps maintain reticle visibility against dark targets, shaded backstops, or low-contrast backgrounds. The 25.4 mm tube keeps mounting straightforward for common rifle setups, while the nitrogen-filled, waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction adds the durability expected from a field-capable riflescope. At 515.00 g and 363.00 mm in length, it offers substantial magnification without becoming excessively heavy for a practical target or hunting rifle.

About Discovery Optics

Discovery Optics, presented by the company as DISCOVERYOPT, states that it was established in 2009 and lists its main operations in Bao'an, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. The company focuses on rifle scopes for shooting and hunting, and its catalog also includes electro-optical sighting devices and thermal imaging products for hunting use. That combination places the brand in both traditional daytime optics and newer electronic observation and aiming equipment.

Its riflescope range includes series such as XED, ED, LHD, and HD, with models offered in both first-focal-plane and second-focal-plane configurations. This matters in practice because it shows a product lineup built around different shooting styles, from straightforward hunting optics to more feature-rich tactical and precision formats. In the riflescope category, Discovery Optics is best understood as a manufacturer centered on practical optical tools with a broad spread of magnification ranges, reticle layouts, and use cases.
