Discovery Optics HD 5-30x56

• 5-30x magnification range: The wide zoom span covers precise load development and long-range target work at the top end while still giving a usable lower setting for scanning, spotting impacts, and engaging closer targets without changing optics.
• 56 mm objective with fully multicoated optics: A large front lens and multilayer coatings help maintain image brightness and contrast, which is especially useful when reading mirage, picking out small targets, or shooting in poor light.
• First focal plane illuminated reticle: Because the reticle scales with magnification, holdovers and corrections stay consistent throughout the zoom range, while the red illumination improves reticle visibility against dark backgrounds.
• 34 mm tube and tactical turrets: The larger tube supports generous internal adjustment, giving the scope enough elevation travel for extended-distance dialing and a turret layout suited to frequent corrections on the range.
• Side parallax from 9 m to infinity: Close parallax adjustment lets the scope focus sharply at short distances as well as far downrange, reducing aiming error and making the optic more versatile for both practice and field use.

About the Discovery Optics HD Series

The Discovery Optics HD series is positioned as a precision-optics riflescope family built for field hunting, long-range use, and precision shooting. Within the manufacturer’s lineup, the HD models sit as feature-rich scopes for shooters who need more dialing range, more reticle utility, and a more robust mechanical platform than a basic hunting optic typically provides. The series is described as using HD optical glass with multilayer lens coatings, aiming to deliver the contrast and detail needed for reading targets, terrain, and conditions at distance.

Across the current HD collection, Discovery Optics lists the series as first focal plane, nitrogen-purged, and fogproof across a stated operating range of -40°C to +70°C. The line also includes MRAD, MOA, and MIL variants, with some models offering zero-stop or locking turrets depending on configuration. That combination gives the series a practical identity: scopes designed not just for magnified viewing, but for repeatable corrections, hold-based shooting, and dependable use in changing weather. Discovery also rates the HD series for IP67 water protection and 1500G recoil resistance, reinforcing its role as a hard-use tactical and hunting optics platform.

About the Discovery Optics HD 5-30x56

The Discovery Optics HD 5-30x56 is built for shooters who want one riflescope to cover precision shooting, long-range target work, and demanding hunting use. Its 5-30x magnification range gives it unusual flexibility: the lower end is practical for finding targets and managing wider stages or field positions, while the upper end provides the image scale needed for careful shot placement, spotting trace, and refining holds on small or distant targets. Paired with a 56.00 mm objective lens, the scope is configured to preserve usable brightness and detail when magnification rises.

This model uses a first focal plane reticle with red illumination, a layout that matters in real shooting because subtensions remain true as magnification changes. That makes holdovers, wind calls, and rapid corrections more intuitive when moving between distances. The illumination adds contrast when the reticle would otherwise blend into dark timber, shaded targets, or low-light backgrounds. With a 34 mm tube and 33.00 mrad of elevation adjustment, the scope also offers the travel needed for dialing beyond ordinary mid-range distances.

The tactical turret layout suits frequent adjustment, while the side-focus parallax system, adjustable from 9m to infinity, helps keep the target image sharp and minimizes parallax error from close-range practice to far targets. A stated eye relief of 92.00 mm to 95.00 mm supports stable head position behind centerfire rifles, and the nitrogen-filled, waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction gives the scope the durability expected from a hard-use tactical riflescope.

About Discovery Optics

Discovery Optics, presented by the manufacturer as DISCOVERYOPT, states that it was established in 2009 and lists its main operations in Bao'an, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. The company focuses on rifle scopes for shooting and hunting, while also offering electro-optical sighting devices and thermal imaging products. That product mix places the brand squarely in the field of sporting and tactical optics rather than general consumer optics.

Its riflescope range includes the XED, ED, LHD, and HD series, covering different levels of magnification, mechanical features, and intended use. Discovery Optics also offers both first-focal-plane and second-focal-plane reticles, which shows a design approach aimed at serving hunters, recreational shooters, and precision users with different preferences for dialing and holdover work. In practical terms, the brand is known for building optics that emphasize broad feature sets, modern reticle layouts, and long-range-oriented configurations.
