Caldwell AR500 33% Deer Target

• AR500 steel construction: The steel plate is built for repeated centerfire rifle use, giving the target the durability needed for regular range sessions and reducing the need for frequent replacement.
• 33% deer silhouette: The scaled deer shape adds a more realistic practice target than a simple round or square plate, helping shooters work on target transitions and shot placement with a field-style outline.
• High-visibility finish: The contrasting finish is easier to pick up downrange, so impacts and target position are quicker to see during practice.
• Target-post compatibility: The center slot fits the Caldwell AR500 Target Post system, making it easier to integrate the plate into an existing steel-target setup.
• Rifle-rated impact limits: Rated up to 3,000 fps impact velocity and 3,500 ft-lb impact energy, the target is suited to demanding practice with appropriate centerfire rifle loads.

About the Caldwell Accessories Series

Caldwell Accessories covers a broad mix of shooting-support products built around practical range use rather than a single narrow category. Within the wider Caldwell lineup, the series sits as a utility-focused family that includes gear for target shooting, firearms handling, and general range organization. The emphasis is on straightforward function, durable materials, and designs that fit common shooting tasks without unnecessary complexity.

Across the range, Caldwell applies the same approach seen in its other shooting products: equipment intended for regular use at the range, whether for training, recreational shooting, or firearms setup. The series includes products made for different platforms and applications, from handgun-oriented accessories to steel targets and related range gear. In practice, that means the Caldwell Accessories name is associated with products that are meant to be easy to use, simple to integrate into an existing setup, and durable enough for repeated handling and outdoor use.

About the Caldwell AR500 33% Deer Target

The Caldwell AR500 33% Deer Target is a steel target intended for shooters who want a more realistic practice shape than a standard gong or square plate. Its 33% deer silhouette gives the target a field-style outline that is useful for recreational shooting, target transitions, and shot-placement drills where shape recognition matters as much as simply hitting steel. That makes it well suited to informal practice as well as competition or training setups that benefit from more varied target profiles.

Its main strength is the use of 3/8" AR500 steel, which Caldwell rates for centerfire rifle use. In practical terms, that means the target is built to handle repeated impacts while maintaining the long service life expected from a properly used steel plate. Caldwell also rates it up to 3,000 fps impact velocity and 3,500 ft-lb impact energy, giving it a clear operating envelope for rifle practice. The yellow powder-coat finish improves visibility downrange, which helps shooters confirm target position quickly and makes the plate easier to spot against mixed backgrounds.

The target also uses a 1/2" x 1" center slot that is compatible with the Caldwell AR500 Target Post. That mounting format is practical for shooters who want a simple hanging arrangement and the flexibility to swap target shapes within the same system. Combined with its steel construction and animal-profile design, this target is a useful option for range sessions that call for durable feedback and more varied target presentation.
