Burris XTR PS 5.5-30x56 Product description

  • PĒK digital elevation system: The clickless Programmable Elevation Knob adjusts in extremely fine steps, helping long-range shooters make faster, smoother corrections than a conventional turret when stage time or changing distance matters.
  • Integrated onboard HUD: The built-in display places key firing information inside the optic system, reducing the need to break position to check external data and helping maintain rhythm during competition or precision field shooting.
  • 5.5-30x magnification range: This wide zoom span gives the scope enough low-end flexibility for target acquisition while still providing the top-end magnification needed for precise shot placement at extended distance.
  • 56 mm objective with ED glass: The large objective and ED glass support a brighter, cleaner image with better detail recognition, which is especially useful when reading mirage, spotting impacts, or shooting in difficult light.
  • Illuminated SCR 2 FFP reticle: The front-focal-plane reticle keeps hold values consistent throughout the zoom range, so ranging, holdovers, and wind calls remain usable whether the shooter is zoomed in for precision or backed off for speed.

About the Burris XTR PS Series

Burris introduced the XTR PS series in 2025 as a current tactical riflescope family aimed at competitive and long-range tactical shooters. Within Burris’s lineup, the series sits as a highly specialized precision platform that combines the familiar strengths of a premium long-range optic with a more advanced elevation-control system and integrated digital support. Rather than treating the scope as only a passive sighting device, Burris built the XTR PS around faster correction, clearer ballistic management, and more efficient stage execution.

A defining feature of the series is the PĒK elevation control, which gives every XTR PS model digital adjustment down to 1/30 MIL. The family also includes an onboard HUD with customizable data zones and a competition countdown timer, adding practical tools for shooters who need information without leaving the rifle. BurrisConnect app compatibility allows ballistic profiles to be created and uploaded, making the series suitable for disciplined match use as well as extended-range work in changing conditions. Across the range, Burris uses an illuminated SCR 2 front-focal-plane reticle and a one-piece 34 mm main tube, with the series offered in both 3.3-18x50 mm and 5.5-30x56 mm formats.

About the Burris XTR PS 5.5-30x56

The Burris XTR PS 5.5-30x56 is the higher-magnification model in the series, built for shooters who need more image scale for small targets, distant steel, and precise correction at extended range. Its 5.5-30x magnification range gives it the flexibility to work across varied stages and firing positions, while the 56 mm objective helps maintain image brightness and target definition as magnification rises. Burris pairs that objective with ED glass and fully multicoated lenses, which supports better contrast and cleaner detail when reading wind indicators, mirage, or splash.

What sets this model apart is the way its digital and mechanical systems support practical shooting speed. The PĒK clickless elevation control uses a digital position sensor and allows extremely fine adjustment, while still giving the shooter enough travel for serious distance work. Burris states that the scope can dial more than 19 MIL in a single rotation, which helps reduce unnecessary turret management during long-range stages. The integrated HUD adds useful information such as dial-to-distance, wind hold, angle compensation, battery status, and digital level data, keeping critical inputs close at hand. Connection to the BurrisConnect app allows custom ballistic profiles to be loaded into the scope for more tailored corrections.

The SCR 2 XTR PS reticle is a front-focal-plane design, so its hold values remain true throughout the zoom range. That matters in practical use because the shooter can hold for wind or elevation without being locked to one magnification setting. With side-focus parallax adjustment from 20 yds to infinity, a 34 mm tube, Zero Stop, and a rugged one-piece 6061-T6 aluminum body, this riflescope is configured for serious long-range and tactical optics use where repeatability, information access, and durability all matter.

About Burris

Burris was founded in 1971 and takes its name from founder Don Burris. The company is headquartered in Greeley, Colorado, United States, and has long focused on sporting and shooting optics. Its catalog covers hunting and tactical riflescopes, red-dot and reflex sights, binoculars, spotting scopes, rangefinders, thermal optics, rings, and mounts, which gives the brand broad experience across both field and precision-shooting applications.

Several milestones help explain Burris’s place in this category. The company began marketing the Fullfield riflescope series in 1975, introduced the Ballistic Plex trajectory-compensating reticle in 2000, and became part of Beretta Holdings in 2002. Burris later expanded its reputation with products such as the FastFire mini reflex sight in 2007 and the Eliminator riflescope with integrated laser rangefinding and automatic bullet-drop compensation in 2010. That background is relevant to the XTR PS, which continues Burris’s emphasis on practical ballistic solutions in advanced riflescope design.
