Barnett King Rat Black Widow Hunter Slingshot

• Foldaway Wrist Brace: the brace adds support for a steadier hold, then folds down for easier storage and transport when the slingshot is not in use.
• Double-X Tapered Speed Bands: these bands are built to deliver stronger downrange energy, helping the slingshot suit hunting and small-game use where impact matters.
• 3-Distance Range-Finding Ring Sight: the sight system gives a more repeatable aiming reference at different distances, which helps improve consistency in the field.
• Compact Black Widow Platform: the proven Black Widow layout keeps the slingshot easy to carry while maintaining the wrist-braced control that made the design popular.
• Camo Grip and Padded Brace: the camouflage finish and padded wrist support improve handling comfort and make the slingshot better suited to outdoor use.

About the King Rat Series

The Barnett King Rat series is a modern slingshot family built around practical field use, compact carry and a range of draw and power options. In Barnett’s lineup, King Rat models sit as purpose-built slingshots for recreational shooting, backyard practice and hunting-oriented use, with different versions tailored to different strength levels and shooting styles. Across the series, Barnett uses features such as brushed leather center-shot pouches, textured grips and compact frames to keep handling straightforward and repeatable.

What distinguishes the series is the way each model balances portability with control. Some versions focus on easier handling for general use, while others use heavier-duty band systems for more energy on target. The line also includes models with fiber-optic or range-oriented sighting systems, along with foldable wrist-brace designs that make the slingshots easier to pack away. As a family, the King Rat range is aimed at shooters who want a more developed alternative to a basic slingshot, with better support, more consistent aiming and model-specific features that match everything from casual target shooting to more demanding outdoor use.

About the Barnett King Rat Black Widow Hunter Slingshot

The Barnett King Rat Black Widow Hunter Slingshot takes the established Black Widow format and adapts it for hunting-oriented use. Its defining feature set combines the familiar foldaway wrist-brace design with a more field-focused configuration, including Double-X tapered speed bands, a 3-distance range-finding ring sight and a camouflage finish. In practice, that gives the shooter a slingshot that is easier to stabilize than a simple handheld frame, while still remaining compact enough to carry in a pack or vehicle.

The tapered band system is important because it is intended for stronger performance downrange, making this model better suited to users who want more energy than an entry-level setup typically provides. The ring sight adds a practical advantage by giving a more structured aiming reference at varying distances, which can help when shooting in changing outdoor conditions rather than at a fixed backyard target. Barnett also pairs the frame with a padded wrist brace and a diamond-cut knurled grip, both of which improve control during repeated shooting sessions.

Details such as the laser-cut ammo pouch and compact folding layout reinforce the Black Widow Hunter’s role as a portable, field-ready slingshot. The result is a model that emphasizes steadier handling, easier carry and a more deliberate sighting setup for shooters who want a compact hunting slingshot rather than a basic recreational design.

About Barnett

Barnett began in 1962 when Bernard Barnett started making crossbows as a hobby in his garage in the United Kingdom. What started as small-scale work for acquaintances developed into a dedicated business, and Barnett later moved its operations permanently to the United States in 2003. Today, the company focuses on crossbows, archery products and slingshots, with a catalog that also includes youth bows and related accessories.

Barnett has long been associated with practical design in shooting and archery equipment, and its slingshot range reflects that same approach. The company’s history in this category includes the Black Widow, a design noted for introducing a foldaway wrist brace that improved portability and storage. That background makes Barnett a relevant name for slingshots that prioritize support, compactness and straightforward field use.
