Vortex Razor HD Gen II-E 1-6x24

• True 1-6x LPVO range: The 1x low end supports fast, both-eyes-open shooting at short distance, while 6x gives enough magnification for more deliberate holds and target identification farther out.
• Second focal plane illuminated reticle: The red illuminated reticle stays visually consistent through the zoom range, making it easy to pick up quickly at 1x while remaining clean and uncluttered at higher magnification.
• Wide field of view: With up to 35.10 m/100m, the scope helps maintain awareness of moving targets and surrounding terrain, which is especially useful in dynamic competition stages and close-range hunting situations.
• Compact, lighter Gen II-E construction: At 256.00 mm and 609.50 g, this model keeps the handling of a carbine more responsive than heavier low-power variable optics.
• Rugged 30 mm nitrogen-filled build: The waterproof, fogproof and shockproof housing is made for hard field use and changing weather, so the sight picture stays dependable when conditions are less predictable.

About the Razor HD (Gen II-E) Series

Vortex Razor HD (Gen II-E) sits in the premium end of the company’s riflescope lineup, aimed at shooters who need a low-power variable optic that can move smoothly between close-range speed and mid-range precision. The series is built around the LPVO concept, combining a true 1x view with enough top-end magnification for practical target discrimination, holdovers and more exact shot placement. That makes it a natural fit for competition carbines, professional duty rifles and modern sporting rifles used for fast-paced hunting or training.

A defining trait of the series is its emphasis on strong optical performance in a compact format. The HD optical system, fully multicoated lenses and broad field of view are intended to give a bright, high-contrast image that remains easy to use under time pressure. Mechanically, the Gen II-E concept focuses on a streamlined body, dependable adjustment system and durable construction suited to repeated transport, recoil and weather exposure. In practice, the series is known for pairing rapid target acquisition at low magnification with the control needed for more precise engagements as distance increases.

About the Vortex Razor HD Gen II-E 1-6x24

Vortex Razor HD Gen II-E 1-6x24 is built for shooters who want one riflescope to cover close-quarters work and intermediate distances without changing the handling of the rifle more than necessary. Its 1.00-6.00 x magnification range gives it the flexibility expected from a serious LPVO: at 1x it behaves like a fast sighting optic for snap shots and transitions, while 6x adds the precision needed for smaller targets, tighter shot placement and more confident use of reticle references. The generous 35.10 m/100m to 6.20 m/100m field of view supports that role by keeping the image open and easy to track through movement.

This model uses a second focal plane reticle with daytime-usable red illumination, a combination that favors speed and visual clarity. Because the reticle maintains the same apparent size through the zoom range, it stays bold and easy to center at low power instead of becoming too fine during rapid shooting. The fixed parallax setting at 100 m also suits the scope’s intended role by keeping operation simple and immediate, with no side focus control to manage during fast engagements.

The mechanical layout is equally practical. Capped turrets protect the adjustments from accidental movement when the rifle is carried, slung or moved through barricades, which makes sense on a scope designed to be run primarily with reticle holds rather than constant dialing. A 30 mm tube, fast-focus eyepiece, nitrogen filling and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof construction round out a design that is meant to stay reliable in demanding field and range use. For a hunting optic or tactical optic on a carbine, the balance of compact size, robust build and fast sight picture is the main appeal of this model.

About Vortex

Vortex traces its roots to a Wild Birds Unlimited store opened by the Hamilton family in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1986. The brand entered the sport optics market in 2002 and is now headquartered in Barneveld, Wisconsin, where it operates as an employee-owned company. Vortex focuses on sport optics for hunting, shooting and outdoor use, with a catalog that includes riflescopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, laser rangefinders and red dot sights.

Within that lineup, product families such as Razor, Viper and Kaibab cover different performance levels and applications. The company also integrates digital ballistic support through GeoBallistics technology in selected products and tools. In the riflescope category, Vortex has built a strong reputation for combining practical reticle design, durable construction and broad model coverage for both sporting and professional users.
