UTG OP3 1.5-6x36 Product description

  • 130 Hunter BDC reticle: The etched-glass crossbow reticle combines ballistic holdover and range-estimation references out to 130 yards, helping the shooter make faster corrections without dialing for every distance.
  • Velocity calibration from 250 to 475 fps: The magnification range is tied to crossbow speed compensation, so the scope can be tuned to different bolt trajectories for more useful hold points across a wide range of setups.
  • Compact 1.5-6x36 format: Low-end magnification supports quick target pickup at shorter distances, while 6x gives enough precision for careful shot placement farther out, all in a short 210.00 mm body that suits compact crossbows.
  • Lockable target turrets and side focus: Resettable, lockable turrets reduce the chance of accidental movement, and side parallax adjustment from 9.14 m to inf keeps the image and aiming point better aligned at varying distances.
  • True Strength construction with IPX-7 sealing: The nitrogen-filled 30 mm scope body is built for shock resistance, fogproof performance and waterproof use, which matters on hard-recoiling crossbows and in wet hunting conditions.

About the UTG Crossbow Scopes Series

UTG Crossbow Scopes are built specifically for the trajectory and handling needs of modern crossbows rather than adapted from general-purpose rifle optics. The series currently includes the True Hunter 4X32 and the OP3 1.5-6X36, giving users a choice between a simpler fixed-power layout and a more flexible variable-power design. Across the family, UTG uses second focal plane reticles with red/green illumination, making the aiming pattern easy to see against dark woodland backgrounds or in changing light.

The series is centered on crossbow-specific aiming. Reticles are calibrated around bolt drop, so the holdover references are meant to match real crossbow trajectories rather than centerfire rifle ballistics. UTG also builds these scopes on its True Strength platform, combining a one-piece aluminum main tube with nitrogen purging for dependable zero retention and resistance to internal fogging. In practice, that gives the series a clear role in the lineup: compact hunting optics for crossbow users who need practical holdover references, durable construction and straightforward operation in the field.

About the UTG OP3 1.5-6x36

The UTG OP3 1.5-6x36 is the more versatile model in the UTG crossbow range, built for shooters who want one optic to cover close woodland shots and more deliberate aiming at extended crossbow distances. Its 1.5-6x magnification range gives a wider view and faster target acquisition at the low end, while the upper end adds the precision needed for small aiming points and careful shot placement. Because the scope is also calibrated for crossbow velocities from 250 to 475 fps, the magnification system does more than enlarge the image; it helps align the reticle’s holdover marks with the trajectory of different crossbow setups.

The 130 Hunter etched-glass reticle is the defining feature of this model. It provides ballistic compensation and range-estimation references out to 130 yards, and its illuminated red and green aiming markers remain visible in dim cover or against dark targets. The reticle also incorporates an internal bubble leveler visible through the sight picture, which helps reduce cant without adding external bulk. For practical field use, that means more consistent vertical hold when shooting from uneven ground or improvised rests.

Mechanically, the scope is set up for repeatable adjustment and secure carry. The lockable, resettable BDC turrets help prevent unintentional movement during transport, while side focus adjustment from 9.14 m to inf sharpens the image and reduces aiming error across changing distances. A 30 mm tube, nitrogen filling, shockproof construction and IPX-7 waterproofing round out a compact crossbow riflescope that is designed for real outdoor use rather than bench-only handling.

About UTG

UTG is a brand of Leapers, Inc., a company founded in Michigan in 1992 and headquartered in Livonia, Michigan, United States. Leapers began with a compact 4×28 scope and grew into a manufacturer focused on optics and shooting accessories for hunting and shooting sports. Its product range includes riflescopes, scope rings, mounts and bipods, with an emphasis on practical designs for field and range use.

Over time, the company expanded its technical capabilities beyond product distribution into in-house development and manufacturing. In 2009, Leapers introduced the UTG PRO line of U.S.-made products, and in 2018 it established a UTG optics research and manufacturing center in Taiwan. That background is relevant here because UTG optics are developed within a broader system of mounts, rings and shooting accessories, giving the brand a strong focus on compatibility, durability and use-driven design.
