Swarovski EL Range 12x42 Product description

  • 12x magnification with 42 mm objectives: brings distant game and terrain details closer while keeping the binocular compact enough for active hunting use.
  • Integrated laser rangefinder: measures distance in as little as 0.5 s, helping with faster decisions when time is limited in the field.
  • SWAROVISION image quality: supports sharp detail, strong contrast, and natural color rendition, which makes it easier to judge animals and surroundings accurately.
  • Open-bridge housing: gives the Swarovski EL Range 12x42 a secure, balanced hold for steadier viewing during longer glassing sessions.
  • Nitrogen-filled waterproof construction: helps maintain reliable performance in rain, cold, and changing temperatures while resisting internal fogging.

About the Swarovski EL Range Series

The Swarovski EL Range series is a hunting binocular family built around the idea of combining premium observation with an integrated rangefinder. It sits in SWAROVSKI OPTIK’s hunting lineup as a solution for users who want to glass, measure distance, and assess angle without switching between separate devices. That approach reduces movement in the field and keeps the observation process more efficient when game appears briefly or at longer distances.

A defining feature of the series is SWAROVISION technology, which is designed to deliver a sharp image across the field of view and support confident detail recognition. The EL Range platform also adds distance and angle measurement, and it can be configured through the SWAROVSKI OPTIK Hunting App to transfer personal ballistic data. The integrated Tracking Assistant further supports practical hunting use by helping guide the user toward the area of the last shot. Within the current lineup, 32 mm and 42 mm objective models cover different priorities, from lower carried weight to stronger all-round low-light performance.

About the Swarovski EL Range 12x42

The Swarovski EL Range 12x42 is the longest-reaching standard model in the 42 mm EL Range line, built for hunters who regularly need more image scale for open country, mountain terrain, or long observation distances. Its 12x magnification helps reveal antler detail, body position, and background features that can be harder to read with lower-power binoculars, while the 42 mm objective lenses keep the instrument portable enough for day-long carry.

The binocular combines this higher magnification with a built-in rangefinder that measures from 10.00 m to 2000.00 m with +/- 1 m accuracy and a fast 0.5 s measurement time. In practice, that means the user can confirm distance quickly without lowering the binocular or reaching for another device. The internal display keeps the reading in the viewing path, which supports a smoother workflow when scanning, identifying, and measuring in one sequence.

Optically, the Roof - Schmidt/Pechan prism design, fully multicoated lenses, and 90% light transmission support a bright, high-contrast image with natural color rendition. A 96.00 m/1000m field of view is well judged for a 12x binocular, giving useful terrain awareness while still prioritizing reach. The 3.50 mm exit pupil, central focusing system, and open bridge body all contribute to practical handling, while the nitrogen-filled, waterproof and fogproof construction helps the binocular stay dependable in changing weather.

About Swarovski

SWAROVSKI OPTIK was founded by Wilhelm Swarovski in 1949 in Absam, Tyrol, Austria, where the company is still headquartered. It develops and manufactures sport optics, including binoculars, spotting scopes, rifle scopes, and optronic instruments, and it is particularly well known for premium hunting and observation optics. In its binocular range, the company’s established product families include EL, SLC, and Habicht.

The company expanded its expertise across several key categories over time, introducing its first rifle scope in 1959 and its first spotting scope in 1994. The EL binoculars, launched in 1999, became especially notable for their wrap-around grip concept, which helped define the handling style of later models. That background is directly relevant to the EL Range, which combines Swarovski’s long-standing optical design experience with integrated electronic ranging functions for hunting use.
