Shilba Safari 1.25-4x24 Product description

  • Low-power hunting zoom: The 1.25-4x24 range is well suited to driven hunts and short-to-medium distances, giving a wide view at the low end for fast target pickup while still adding enough magnification for more deliberate shots.
  • 30 mm main tube: A 30 mm tube gives this riflescope a sturdy platform and a generous internal layout, helping create a compact sight picture that suits hard field use on hunting rifles.
  • Second focal plane reticle: The SFP reticle keeps the same apparent size through the zoom range, so the aiming point remains easy to see at low magnification when speed matters most.
  • Capped hunting turrets: Capped adjustment turrets help protect the settings from knocks, brush, and accidental movement, which is exactly what many hunters want on a rifle carried through dense cover.
  • Compact, lightweight build: At 270.00 mm and 395.00 g, this scope keeps the rifle trim and responsive, making it easier to mount quickly and carry comfortably over long days in the field.

About the Shilba Safari Series

The Shilba Safari series is a hunting-focused riflescope family built around practical formats for field use rather than highly specialized competition setups. The range includes fixed- and variable-magnification models, giving hunters a choice between simple fixed-power scopes and more flexible low- to mid-power zoom designs for changing terrain and shooting distances. Within the broader Safari line, Shilba has offered variants such as Safari Grade, Safari RD30, and Safari Max, showing that the series covers both traditional hunting layouts and faster low-power configurations.

A defining trait of the Safari family is its emphasis on straightforward usability. Older Safari variants were listed with 30 mm tubes, along with features such as diopter and parallax correction, nitrogen sealing, and Hi-Resolution II lenses on selected models. The series has also included both conventional reticle options and red-dot-style concepts, depending on the model. In practice, that makes the Safari line a sensible fit for hunters who want familiar controls, field-ready construction, and optical formats suited to moving game, woodland shooting, and general-purpose hunting rifles.

About the Shilba Safari 1.25-4x24

The Shilba Safari 1.25-4x24 is a compact hunting riflescope designed for situations where speed matters more than extreme magnification. Its 1.25x low end supports rapid sight acquisition and a broad view of the surroundings, which is especially useful on driven hunts, in woodland, or whenever game appears suddenly at short range. Turning up to 4x gives a more precise aiming picture for longer shots without making the scope bulky or slow to handle.

The optical layout pairs this zoom range with a 24.00 mm objective lens and a wide 24.40 m/100m maximum field of view, helping the shooter stay aware of movement around the target instead of looking through a narrow tunnel. The multicoated lenses are there to support image brightness and contrast, while the generous exit pupil range helps keep the image easy to pick up during fast mounting.

This model uses a second focal plane reticle, so the reticle appears the same size throughout the magnification range. That is a practical advantage on a low-power hunting scope because the aiming point stays easy to see at the bottom end, where quick shots are most common. Capped turrets reinforce the hunting role by protecting the adjustments from accidental movement in transport or rough cover. With its 30 mm tube, 270.00 mm length, and 395.00 g weight, the scope remains compact enough for lively rifle handling while still offering the versatility expected from a variable-power hunting optic.

About Shilba

Shilba traces its origins to an optical workshop near Osaka, Japan, in 1960. The brand developed its early riflescope identity through practical hunting use, including a project in 1975 when technicians from Argentina traveled to Japan to develop a riflescope for hare hunting. Shilba’s first two riflescope models, the 4×32 and 4×40, sold through their initial 2,000-unit production run in under 60 days, helping establish the brand in sporting optics.

In 1981, the Shilba brand, its expertise, and its business contacts passed to the current owners. Since then, the company has expanded beyond riflescopes into binoculars, monoculars, spotting scopes, and scope mounts and rings. Shilba later broadened its international reach, exporting to neighboring Latin American countries from 2000 and entering the Spanish market in 2004. That background gives the brand a long-standing connection to practical field optics for hunting and general outdoor use.
