Shilba Gold Medal 1-4x24 Product description

1-4x magnification range: True low magnification supports fast target acquisition at short distance, while 4x gives enough image scale for more deliberate shots in open ground or on small targets.
24 mm objective with wide field of view: The scope shows up to 40.30 m/100m on 1x, making it easier to track moving game and stay aware of the surroundings during driven hunting or close woodland use.
30 mm one-piece tube: A larger tube format helps provide a solid mounting platform and a durable structure suited to regular field use on hunting rifles.
Fully multicoated optics: Multi-coated lenses improve light transmission and contrast, which helps the sight picture stay clearer in poor light and against darker backgrounds.
Waterproof and nitrogen filled construction: Sealed, fogproof construction keeps the optic usable through rain, temperature changes, and damp morning conditions where internal fogging can ruin visibility.

About the Shilba Gold Medal Series

Shilba Gold Medal is positioned as Shilba's high-end riflescope series, built for shooters who want a stronger mechanical platform and a more refined hunting optic than entry-level models. The series was developed in collaboration with professionals, hunters, and marksmen, and it is aimed at practical field use where reliability matters as much as optical clarity. Across the range, Gold Medal scopes use 30 mm tubes, giving the series a consistent mechanical format suited to hunting and general shooting applications.

The lineup includes compact low-power models as well as larger scopes for broader hunting use, with currently listed versions such as 1-4×24, 1.5-6×42, 2.5-10×50, and 3-12×56. Shilba offers the series with IR4 and B.4A reticle variants, allowing users to choose between configurations that suit faster target acquisition or more conventional aiming preferences. In practical terms, the Gold Medal family focuses on a balanced combination of durability, straightforward handling, and dependable optical performance for hunting rifles and general-purpose shooting setups.

About the Shilba Gold Medal 1-4x24

The Shilba Gold Medal 1-4x24 is the compact, wide-angle member of the series, built for situations where speed matters more than high magnification. Its 1-4x zoom range makes it especially well suited to driven hunting, brush hunting, and short- to medium-range shooting, where a true low-power setting helps the rifle come on target quickly and a modest top end still gives enough precision for more careful shot placement. At 1x, the scope is intended for fast, natural aiming, and the wide field of view helps the shooter keep track of moving animals and changing terrain.

The optical layout combines a 24 mm objective with fully multicoated lenses, supporting a bright, usable image in daylight and in the lower-light periods when hunting activity often increases. The second focal plane reticle keeps its apparent size constant as magnification changes, which many hunters prefer because the aiming point remains easy to see at both low and higher settings. This model uses capped turrets, a practical choice for a field rifle because the adjustments stay protected from accidental movement while carrying the rifle through cover or in a vehicle. A fixed parallax system also keeps operation simple, with no extra control to manage under time pressure.

The scope's 30 mm tube, 258.00 mm length, and 400.00 g weight give it a compact profile that suits lightweight hunting rifles without making the setup feel top-heavy. A fast-focus eyepiece helps the reticle come into sharp focus quickly, while the waterproof, fogproof, nitrogen-filled construction is designed for real outdoor use in rain, cold mornings, and changing temperatures.

About Shilba

Shilba traces its origins to an optical workshop near Osaka, Japan, in 1960. The brand built its early reputation around sporting optics, and its later riflescope development was shaped by practical hunting needs. In 1975, technicians from Argentina traveled to Japan to help develop a riflescope for hare hunting, an early example of the brand's focus on field-oriented design rather than purely catalog specifications. Shilba's first two riflescope models were 4×32 and 4×40, and the initial 2,000-unit production run sold out in under 60 days.

In 1981, the Japanese factory owner sold the Shilba brand, its expertise, and its contacts to the current owners. The company later expanded its reach, beginning exports to neighboring Latin American countries in 2000 and entering the Spanish market in 2004. Today, Shilba's range includes riflescopes, binoculars, monoculars, spotting scopes, and mounting accessories, reflecting a long-standing specialization in practical sporting optics.
