Shilba Classic 6x40 Fixed-power Riflescope

• Fixed 6x magnification: A constant 6x view keeps the sight picture simple and consistent, which helps with fast target acquisition and repeatable holdover at typical stalking and medium-range hunting distances.
• 40 mm objective lens: The 40 mm front lens gathers enough light for practical dawn and dusk use while keeping the riflescope slimmer and easier to balance than larger hunting optics.
• Second focal plane reticle: The SFP layout keeps the reticle visually consistent across the image, giving a familiar aiming picture that many hunters prefer for straightforward field shooting.
• Capped 1/4 MOA turrets: Protected adjustment caps help prevent accidental movement during transport or rough field use, while 1/4 MOA clicks allow precise zeroing without overcomplicating the setup.
• Nitrogen-filled weather-resistant build: Waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction supports dependable use in changing weather and temperature shifts, reducing the risk of internal fogging in the field.

About the Shilba Classic Series

The Shilba Classic series sits in the brand’s hunting riflescope range as a straightforward line of traditional optics built around practical magnifications and familiar hunting reticles. Its roots are closely tied to Shilba’s early fixed-power scope formats, and the range still reflects that emphasis on simple operation, compact proportions, and dependable field use. Within the series, Shilba offers fixed models such as 4x32, 4x40, and 6x40, alongside a variable 3-9x40 version and IRG variants for shooters who want an illuminated R4 reticle.

Across the line, the Classic concept focuses on the essentials that matter in hunting optics: 1 inch tube construction, practical objective sizes, and a layout that remains easy to mount and easy to use on traditional sporting rifles. Shilba associates the series with Hi-Resolution lenses, aluminum bodies, adjustable focus on listed models, and water- and fog-resistant construction. In use, that gives the Classic family a clear role: riflescopes for hunters who want a conventional sight picture, manageable weight, and uncomplicated controls rather than a highly specialized long-range or tactical setup.

About the Shilba Classic 6x40 Fixed-power Riflescope

The Shilba Classic 6x40 Fixed-power Riflescope is built for hunters who prefer a fixed-magnification optic with a little more reach than a 4x scope, but without the added bulk and complexity of a variable-power design. The 6x magnification gives a useful balance for stalking, woodland edges, and open-ground shots where extra target definition helps place shots more precisely. Paired with a 40.00 mm objective lens, it offers a practical compromise between light intake and a trim overall profile.

This model uses a second focal plane reticle, a format many traditional hunting shooters appreciate because the reticle appearance stays visually constant. Since the reticle is non-illuminated, the image remains uncluttered and the scope stays mechanically simple, which suits daylight hunting and users who value a clean aiming point over added electronic features. The fixed parallax setting also supports that straightforward approach, keeping operation simple in the field with nothing extra to adjust before taking a shot.

Mechanically, the scope is configured with capped turrets and 1/4 MOA clicks, making it well suited to zero once and leave in place for regular hunting use. The 25.4 mm tube, 313.00 mm length, and 340.00 g weight keep the riflescope easy to mount on a wide range of sporting rifles without making the rifle feel top-heavy. Nitrogen filling, together with waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction, adds the kind of durability expected from a field rifle scope that may be carried in rain, cold mornings, or rough terrain.

About Shilba

Shilba traces its origins to an optical workshop near Osaka, Japan, in 1960. The brand entered a new phase in 1981, when the current owners acquired the Shilba name together with the factory’s expertise and industry contacts. Its development in sporting optics is closely linked to practical field use: in 1975, technicians from Argentina traveled to Japan to help develop a riflescope intended for hare hunting, and Shilba’s first two riflescope models were 4×32 and 4×40.

Over time, Shilba expanded into a broader optics catalog that includes riflescopes, binoculars, monoculars, spotting scopes, and scope mounts and rings. The company later widened its market presence by exporting to neighboring Latin American countries in 2000 and by entering Spain in 2004. That background helps explain why Shilba remains strongly associated with accessible sporting optics designed around practical hunting and field use rather than highly specialized competition equipment.
