Schmidt & Bender Grey Filter 24 mm

• 24 mm objective fit: This grey filter is sized for compatible Schmidt & Bender riflescopes with a 24 mm objective, giving a clean, model-specific fit without improvised adapters.
• Color-neutral light reduction: The grey filter reduces incoming light without shifting color balance, which helps maintain a natural sight picture in bright conditions.
• SCHOTT glass construction: Homogeneous SCHOTT glass supports a consistent image across the lens, helping preserve clarity while cutting excessive brightness.
• Thread-on mounting: The filter screws directly onto the objective, so it stays securely in place during field use and can be fitted or removed without changing the optic setup.
• Double-sided thread: The front female thread allows compatible protective lens covers to be attached, so the riflescope can remain protected even with the filter installed.

About the S&B Accessories Series

S&B Accessories is the support range developed for Schmidt & Bender riflescopes, covering practical add-ons that refine how an optic performs in the field rather than changing its core design. The series includes filters, anti-reflection devices, lens covers, adapters, cleaning equipment and handling accessories, with each item built around the same precise fit expected from the company’s riflescope line. A key characteristic of the range is that compatibility is tied to specific riflescope models and dimensions, so each accessory is intended to work as a functional extension of the optic rather than as a universal part.

Within the series, light-management products play an important role. Objective sunshades are used to reduce stray light and reflections, while the killFlash anti-reflection device uses a honeycomb structure to limit visible lens reflections from the front of the scope. Filters expand that concept further by adapting the image to lighting conditions or contrast needs. The overall design approach is practical and modular: accessories are made to integrate neatly with the riflescope, often with threaded interfaces that allow additional protective parts to be fitted where appropriate.

About the Schmidt & Bender Grey Filter 24 mm

The Schmidt & Bender Grey Filter 24 mm is a riflescope accessory intended for shooters who need better control of the sight picture in strong light. By providing targeted light reduction, it helps prevent the image from appearing overly bright when conditions are harsh, while keeping the view usable and balanced. This makes it particularly relevant for daylight shooting environments where glare and excessive brightness can make fine aiming detail harder to read.

The filter uses homogeneous SCHOTT glass and is described as color neutral, which matters in practice because it reduces light without introducing a strong tint to the image. Instead of changing the character of the view, it preserves a more natural image while lowering intensity. That is useful when the shooter wants less glare and better visual comfort but still needs to judge detail and contrast through the riflescope in a familiar way.

Mechanically, the filter screws onto the objective, giving a secure and straightforward mounting method suited to regular field handling. Its double-sided thread adds practical flexibility, because the front thread can still accept compatible protective lens covers. For a 24 mm Schmidt & Bender riflescope setup, this makes the filter more than a simple add-on: it becomes part of a tidy, integrated front-end arrangement that manages light while preserving day-to-day protection and usability.

About Schmidt & Bender

Schmidt & Bender was founded in 1957 by Helmut Schmidt and Helmut Bender in Biebertal-Fellingshausen, Germany. The company remains based in Biebertal and is known for making precision riflescopes for hunting, competition shooting, police and military use. Its product range includes established lines such as Zenith and PM II, reflecting a long focus on premium optical sights rather than a broad sporting-goods catalog.

The company’s history in riflescope development includes the introduction of the first Zenith 2.5-10x56 in 2001, followed by the 1.1-4x24 in 2004, and Zenith models equipped with FlashDot illumination from 2002. In 1992, Schmidt & Bender also established a Hungarian subsidiary based on an optical department acquired from MOM. This background helps explain why the brand’s accessories are closely tied to its optics: they are designed around the needs of precise riflescope systems and their field use.
