Recknagel Pivot upper parts, Sauer 101 < A020554, 34 mm

• Pivot upper assembly: This upper part is built for Recknagel’s pivot mounting system, giving the rifle a detachable scope setup that can be removed for transport or access and reattached with the precise fit expected from a steel hunting mount.
• 34 mm ring interface: The mount is sized for 34 mm scope tubes, making it suitable for modern optics with larger internal adjustment ranges and larger erector systems often used on hunting and precision rifles.
• Adjustable windage: Windage adjustment in the mount helps center the optic mechanically, which can preserve more of the riflescope’s internal adjustment travel and simplify zeroing.
• Steel construction: The steel body provides the rigidity and wear resistance needed in a pivot mount, especially on rifles that see repeated removal and reinstallation of the optic over time.
• Low, practical build: With a 18.50 mm BH height and 35.50 mm H height, this upper part supports a controlled scope position that helps maintain a solid cheek weld while keeping the optic clear of the rifle.

About the - Series

Recknagel pivot mounts are designed for hunters who want a secure, repeatable mounting system that also allows the riflescope to be removed when needed. In Recknagel’s lineup, these mounts sit in the traditional European hunting segment, where a detachable optic is valued for transport, cleaning, use with open sights, or switching between different sighting setups. The system is built around a precise mechanical lock-up that keeps the scope aligned in the same position each time the upper and lower parts are joined.

Steel construction, close manufacturing tolerances, and a model-specific fit are central to the design philosophy. Rather than treating the mount as a generic accessory, Recknagel builds these assemblies as dedicated interfaces between rifle and optic. The result is a mounting solution aimed at dependable return-to-zero behavior, long service life, and stable support for hunting optics. Within the series, users can choose versions for different tube diameters and rifle platforms, making the pivot concept suitable for both classic sporting rifles and more modern hunting setups.

About the Recknagel Pivot upper parts, Sauer 101 < A020554, 34 mm

This Recknagel Pivot upper part is made for the Sauer 101 below serial number A020554 and accepts riflescopes with a 34 mm tube. That combination makes it especially relevant for hunters using a modern, larger-tube optic on a rifle that still benefits from a classic detachable mounting concept. A 34 mm scope often offers greater internal adjustment potential and is commonly chosen for optics with larger objectives or more advanced reticle and turret systems, so the mount needs to provide both strength and precise alignment.

The use of steel is important here. In a pivot mount, the contact surfaces and locking geometry are repeatedly engaged over the life of the rifle, and steel helps maintain that fit under regular use. The adjustable windage adds practical value by allowing the scope to be aligned more closely with the rifle before relying on the optic’s internal corrections. That can leave more adjustment travel available where it matters and supports a cleaner zeroing process.

Its 0 MOA inclination suits general hunting use, where the priority is a straightforward optical setup rather than built-in cant for extreme-distance dialing. The specified 18.50 mm BH height and 35.50 mm overall height indicate a mount intended to keep the optic at a usable, balanced height above the action. Finished in black, it matches the restrained, functional look expected of a hunting scope mount while focusing on fit, repeatability, and mechanical stability.

About Recknagel

Recknagel is a German manufacturer focused on firearm and riflescope mounting systems, sights, and hunting accessories. The company began in 1867, when Adolf Recknagel started manufacturing firearm sights in Albrechts near Suhl in Thuringia. Over time, the product range expanded to include scope mounts, Picatinny rails, sights, triggers, safeties, and hunting silencers, reflecting a long specialization in components that affect handling, precision, and field reliability.

Made in Germany production remains central to the brand’s identity. Recknagel relocated from Schweinfurt to Bergrheinfeld in 2006, and in 2010 it introduced the ERATAC line for tactical mounts and accessories. The company broadened its range again in 2016 with lightweight hunting silencers. In 2022, Dr. Moritz Fehrer acquired Recknagel, continuing a business known for precise mounting solutions for hunting and sporting rifles.
