Pachmayr S&W, J Frame Square Butt Gripper Grip

• J-Frame Square Butt Fit: Built specifically for Smith & Wesson J Frame revolvers with a square butt, this grip gives a secure, model-correct fit that helps maintain consistent hand placement.
• Rubber Construction: The rubber body adds traction and a more forgiving feel in the hand, helping control the revolver during recoil and improving comfort in extended practice sessions.
• Gripper Ergonomics: The Gripper design is shaped to support a firm hold and repeatable trigger reach, which is especially useful on compact revolvers carried for defensive use or regular range work.
• Recoil-Absorbing Design: Pachmayr’s revolver grip layout is intended to reduce the sharp feel of recoil, making lightweight handguns easier to manage and faster to recover between shots.
• Made in USA: US manufacture supports the brand’s long-standing focus on shooting accessories and gives buyers a proven replacement grip from an established firearms-accessories maker.

About the Pachmayr Accessories Series

Pachmayr Accessories covers a broad range of firearm support products, with a strong emphasis on handgun and revolver grips as well as recoil pads for long guns. Within the line, Pachmayr has long focused on practical upgrades that improve how a firearm feels in the hand, how it handles recoil, and how securely it can be controlled under field or range conditions. That makes the series relevant to shooters who want a functional improvement rather than a purely cosmetic change.

For revolvers in particular, the series includes wrap-around and one-piece grip formats, with designs intended for popular platforms from Smith & Wesson, Ruger, and Taurus. Across the range, the common theme is a preference for durable materials, secure texturing, and shapes that support a natural firing grip. The result is a family of accessories aimed at everyday carry revolvers, range guns, hunting handguns, and general-purpose shooting setups where comfort and control matter as much as appearance.

About the Pachmayr S&W, J Frame Square Butt Gripper Grip

The Pachmayr S&W, J Frame Square Butt Gripper Grip is a replacement revolver grip made for Smith & Wesson J Frame square butt models. Its role is straightforward: give a compact revolver a fuller, more secure gripping surface so the handgun is easier to control in live fire. On small-frame revolvers, grip shape has a major effect on handling, and this model is designed to make the gun feel steadier without changing the revolver’s basic character.

The use of rubber construction is important in practice because it improves purchase in dry, cold, or wet conditions while also softening the feel of recoil. That matters on lightweight defensive revolvers, where a hard factory grip can make repeated shooting less comfortable. The Gripper pattern is also intended to promote a repeatable hand position, helping the shooter return to the same hold from shot to shot for more predictable trigger reach and better control during rapid strings.

At 170.00 g, this Pachmayr revolver grip adds substance without turning the handgun into a bulky setup. The black finish keeps the look understated and practical, while the overall design suits shooters who want a functional upgrade for carry, training, or general revolver use. For anyone setting up a J Frame square butt revolver for better comfort and control, this grip focuses on the part of the handgun the shooter interacts with most directly.

About Pachmayr

Pachmayr was founded by Frank Pachmayr in 1929 and became known for firearm accessories built around practical handling improvements. The company’s product range includes handgun grips, recoil pads, gunsmithing tools, and related shooting accessories, with revolver and pistol grips remaining one of its best-known categories. Pachmayr introduced its first recoil pad in 1949, and its rubber handgun grips reached the market in the early 1960s, helping establish the brand’s reputation for recoil control and shooting comfort.

The brand later joined Lyman in 1996, and Pachmayr products continue to cover both traditional and modern grip styles, including Diamond Pro, G10, Renegade, and American Legend lines. That background is especially relevant in the revolver-grip category, where Pachmayr has decades of experience shaping grips for better control, improved comfort, and dependable field use.
