Pachmayr Diamond Pro Taurus Public Defender Grip

• Diamond Plate Texture: The molded surface gives the hand a more positive hold, helping maintain control during rapid strings and with heavier revolver recoil.
• Wrap-Around One-Piece Design: This grip surrounds the frame for a fuller, more secure feel, improving comfort and making the compact Taurus Public Defender easier to manage.
• Blended Rubber Construction: Pachmayr’s rubber compound adds a slightly cushioned feel that helps reduce perceived recoil and improves purchase in wet or cold conditions.
• Public Defender-Specific Fit: Built for the Taurus Compact Public Defender, it offers a model-specific replacement that updates handling without changing the revolver’s basic profile.
• Made in USA: Domestic production supports consistent fit and finish for shooters replacing worn factory grips or setting up a working revolver.

About the Pachmayr Accessories Series

Pachmayr Accessories covers a broad range of shooting components, from handgun and revolver grips to rifle grips and recoil pads for long guns. Within that lineup, the series is built around practical upgrades that improve handling, control, and day-to-day usability rather than cosmetic changes alone. Pachmayr’s long history with rubber handgun grips shapes this family strongly, and that is especially clear in its revolver offerings.

Current grip choices in the series span slip-on rubber designs, G10 Tactical models, Renegade laminate options, and dedicated revolver lines such as Diamond Pro. In the revolver segment, Diamond Pro grips stand out for their one-piece wrap-around construction and distinctive diamond-plate texture. That design approach focuses on a secure hold, a natural feel in the hand, and better recoil control on compact and heavy-recoiling revolvers alike. The series also covers fitments for major revolver platforms, including Ruger, Taurus, and Smith & Wesson, making it a practical family of accessories for shooters who want a more controlled and comfortable interface with the firearm.

About the Pachmayr Diamond Pro Taurus Public Defender Grip

The Pachmayr Diamond Pro Taurus Public Defender Grip is a replacement revolver grip made specifically for the Taurus Compact Public Defender. Its purpose is straightforward: give this compact revolver a more secure, more comfortable hold than a smaller or harder factory grip can provide. On a short, powerful revolver, grip shape matters as much as surface texture, and this model is designed to fill the hand more naturally so the revolver tracks more predictably under recoil.

The defining feature is the Diamond Pro wrap-around design, which combines a one-piece format with Pachmayr’s diamond-plate texturing. In practice, that means more traction during fast follow-up shots and better control when shooting heavier defensive loads. The blended rubber construction also contributes to comfort by softening the feel of recoil against the palm without making the grip feel loose or spongy. That balance is useful on a revolver intended for close-range defensive use, where a firm purchase and quick recovery matter more than target-style bulk.

Because it is tailored to the Public Defender platform, this Pachmayr revolver grip keeps the upgrade focused on handling rather than unnecessary complexity. The result is a black revolver grip that suits working carry guns, range use, and general handgun setup where improved control, steadier indexing, and better shooting comfort are the main priorities.

About Pachmayr

Pachmayr was founded by Frank Pachmayr in 1929 and built its name around practical firearm accessories and custom-gun expertise. The brand’s background includes a custom gun shop in Los Angeles, California, and over time it expanded into widely used shooting products such as handgun grips, recoil pads, and gunsmithing tools. Pachmayr introduced its first recoil pad in 1949, and its rubber handgun grips entered the market in the early 1960s, helping establish the company as a specialist in recoil management and firearm handling.

Today, Pachmayr is known for grip families such as Diamond Pro, G10, Renegade, and American Legend, along with recoil-reducing products that use Decelerator material. The brand joined Lyman in 1996, and its manufacturing plant relocated to Prescott Valley, Arizona, in 2014. Across handgun and long-gun accessories, Pachmayr remains focused on functional upgrades that improve control, comfort, and durability.
