Pachmayr Decelerator Recoil Pad Winchester 70 Classic, 1 Bsk. Weave

• Decelerator material: softens felt recoil to make heavier rifle loads more manageable, helping maintain comfort through longer range sessions and reducing flinch.
• Pre-fit Winchester 70 Classic pattern: built for this stock profile, giving a cleaner replacement option than a universal pad and simplifying installation on a compatible rifle.
• Basket weave face: the heavier texture helps the butt stay planted on the shoulder, which is useful for deliberate shooting positions and harder-kicking hunting rifles.
• Rubber construction: adds a controlled, cushioned contact surface at the shoulder while also improving grip compared with a hard factory buttplate.
• Black finish: keeps the look traditional and understated, matching a wide range of rifle stocks without drawing attention away from the rifle itself.

About the Pachmayr Accessories Series

Pachmayr Accessories covers the brand’s long-running range of grips and recoil-control components for sporting and defensive firearms. The series includes recoil pads for rifles and shotguns alongside handgun, revolver and rifle grip options, giving shooters practical upgrades that focus on handling, comfort and control rather than cosmetic change alone. Within this family, Pachmayr has built a strong reputation around products that improve how a firearm feels in the hand or against the shoulder during extended use.

A defining part of the series is its use of Decelerator material in recoil-reducing products. In practical terms, that means accessories designed to take the sharp edge off recoil, improve purchase and help the shooter stay settled behind the gun. The broader series also reflects Pachmayr’s traditional approach to firearm accessories: straightforward fitment, durable materials and model-specific options where needed. For rifle owners, that makes the line especially relevant when replacing worn factory pads or adapting a rifle for more comfortable field and range use.

About the Pachmayr Decelerator Recoil Pad Winchester 70 Classic, 1 Bsk. Weave

The Pachmayr Decelerator Recoil Pad Winchester 70 Classic, 1 Bsk. Weave is a rifle recoil pad made for shooters who want a more forgiving shoulder interface without changing the character of a classic sporting rifle. Its main advantage is the use of Decelerator recoil-reducing rubber, which helps absorb part of the rearward impulse that would otherwise be transmitted directly into the shoulder. On hunting rifles and other harder-kicking setups, that translates into better comfort, steadier follow-through and less fatigue over repeated shots.

This version is configured as a pre-fit pad for the Winchester 70 Classic, making it a more tailored solution than a generic replacement. A model-specific fit matters because it preserves the rifle’s lines more neatly and avoids the unfinished look that can come with poorly matched pads. The 1 Bsk. Weave format combines a traditional black appearance with a basket weave contact surface that offers a firmer hold on clothing and shooting jackets. That extra traction is useful when shooting from supported positions or when managing recoil from larger calibers, because it helps keep the butt from shifting during the shot.

As a rubber recoil pad for rifles, it also improves day-to-day handling by replacing a harder buttplate with a surface that is more secure in the shoulder pocket. The result is a practical upgrade for maintaining control, preserving comfort and keeping a classic rifle more pleasant to shoot.

About Pachmayr

Pachmayr was founded by Frank Pachmayr in 1929 and developed into a well-known American name in firearm accessories and gunsmithing. The company’s history includes a custom gun shop in Los Angeles, California, and it later became part of Lyman in 1996. Pachmayr is best known for products such as handgun grips, recoil pads and gunsmithing tools, with a product range shaped around practical improvements in control, comfort and fit.

For shoulder-fired firearms, Pachmayr is especially closely associated with recoil pad design. The company introduced its first recoil pad in 1949, and the Decelerator name remains one of its most recognized technologies for reducing felt recoil. That long specialization is what makes Pachmayr a familiar choice for shooters replacing factory pads or refining the handling of hunting and sporting rifles.
