Meprolight Tru-Dot for Walther PPS, PPX

• Self-Illuminated Tritium: The Meprolight Tru-Dot sight picture stays visible in low light and at night without batteries, giving the shooter a constant aiming reference for defensive carry and duty use.
• Three-Dot Alignment: The 3-dot layout is familiar and easy to read, helping the eye pick up the front and rear relationship quickly for faster sight alignment under stress.
• Steel Construction: A steel housing stands up better to daily holster wear, recoil, and hard handling than softer materials, making it a practical choice for a working handgun.
• Fixed Sight Setup: The fixed design keeps the system simple and robust, with fewer exposed parts to snag or shift during regular carry, training, or defensive use.
• Square Rear Sight: The square rear notch gives a clean, conventional sight picture that supports precise front-sight centering for controlled shots at typical handgun distances.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot is the company’s established family of self-illuminated handgun sights, built around a simple idea: provide a consistent three-dot aiming reference that remains usable in daylight, dim interiors, and nighttime conditions. In the current handgun lineup, the series includes fixed, adjustable, and suppressor-height variants, allowing the platform to cover concealed-carry pistols, service handguns, and more specialized setups.

The defining feature of the series is tritium illumination, which works without batteries or external charging. That matters on a defensive pistol, where the sight picture needs to be available immediately rather than depending on switches, brightness settings, or ambient light. Tru-Dot sights are also designed as replacement front and rear sight sets for specific handgun models, so the user keeps a familiar iron-sight presentation while gaining better low-light visibility. Across the range, the emphasis is on durable construction, straightforward alignment, and practical carry use rather than target-style complexity.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for Walther PPS, PPX

Meprolight Tru-Dot for Walther PPS, PPX is a dedicated handgun night sight set made for shooters who want a durable iron-sight upgrade on these Walther pistols without changing the handling of the gun. Its main advantage is the self-illuminated tritium system, which keeps the dots visible around the clock. In practical terms, that means the sight picture remains readable in dark rooms, low-light outdoor conditions, and transitional light where standard black sights can disappear against the target.

The sight set uses a 3-dot alignment with a square rear sight, a familiar arrangement that supports quick front-sight acquisition while still giving enough definition for deliberate shot placement. Because the design is fixed, it favors reliability and everyday carry practicality over adjustment complexity. There are no batteries to replace and no electronic controls to manage, so the system stays ready with minimal maintenance.

Its steel construction is well suited to repeated recoil, holster contact, and general service use. The black finish keeps the profile subdued while the illuminated dots do the visual work when light drops. For Walther PPS and PPX owners, this model delivers a straightforward improvement in low-light usability while preserving the direct, instinctive feel that many shooters prefer from iron sights on a defensive handgun.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, the company develops and manufactures optical and electro-optical sighting systems for military, law-enforcement, and civilian users. Its catalog covers conventional sights, tritium night sights, reflex optics, thermal sights, magnified optics, magnifiers, and night-vision systems.

This background is especially relevant in the handgun-sight category, where Meprolight is known for practical, duty-oriented designs that prioritize visibility, durability, and simple operation. The company produces sighting systems for pistols, rifles, shotguns, and carbines, and it operates as a division of SK Group. That combination of military heritage and broad product development experience is reflected in the straightforward design philosophy of the Tru-Dot series.
