Meprolight Tru-Dot for Kahr P380

• Self-Illuminated Tritium: The Meprolight Tru-Dot sight set stays visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the pistol remains ready for defensive use at any hour.
• Three-Dot Sight Picture: A clear 3-dot alignment helps the eye center the front and rear sights quickly, which supports faster sight acquisition at close defensive distances.
• Steel Construction: The steel body gives the sights the durability expected for daily carry and repeated slide cycling, helping them hold up better than softer materials.
• Fixed Sight Design: A fixed configuration keeps the setup simple and robust, making it well suited to concealed-carry pistols where reliability matters more than frequent adjustment.
• Square Rear Sight: The square rear notch provides a familiar, clean reference that helps define the front sight clearly for more confident alignment under stress.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot sights are built around a simple idea: give handgun users a consistent three-dot sight picture that remains usable in bright daylight, dim interiors, and nighttime conditions. In Meprolight’s handgun lineup, the series covers a broad range of applications, from standard fixed sights for everyday carry pistols to adjustable and suppressor-height variants for more specialized setups. That makes the family relevant to both defensive shooters and professional users who want a familiar iron-sight picture with added low-light capability.

A defining feature of the series is self-illuminated tritium, which provides a visible aiming reference without batteries or switches. In practice, that means the sights are always on and require no activation under stress. The Tru-Dot family is also designed as a direct replacement for factory front and rear sights on compatible handguns, keeping installation straightforward while preserving a conventional sighting method. Across the range, the emphasis stays on durable steel construction, practical day-and-night visibility, and a sight picture that feels natural to shooters already accustomed to traditional pistol irons.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for Kahr P380

The Meprolight Tru-Dot for Kahr P380 is a dedicated tritium night sight set for one of the smallest defensive pistols in regular carry use. On a compact handgun such as the P380, sights need to be easy to pick up quickly, because the pistol is typically chosen for close-range personal defense rather than extended target work. This model addresses that role with a self-illuminated 3-dot layout that stays visible in low light without relying on batteries, making it a practical upgrade for a pistol that may be carried far more often than it is handled on a brightly lit range.

The sight set uses a fixed steel construction, which suits the P380 well. A fixed arrangement reduces complexity and favors durability, while the steel body stands up to holster use, daily carry, and the repeated movement of the slide. The square rear sight gives the shooter a clean rear reference, helping the front dot stand out for faster alignment when time is limited. Because the system is designed specifically for the Kahr P380 platform, it preserves the pistol’s compact handling while adding a more capable low-light aiming solution. For concealed-carry users who want a traditional iron-sight setup with round-the-clock visibility, this model keeps the handgun simple, familiar, and ready for defensive use.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, the company is a division of SK Group and focuses on the development and manufacture of optical and electro-optical sighting systems. Its catalog spans conventional sights, tritium night sights, reflex optics, thermal sights, night-vision systems, magnified optics, and magnifiers.

The company’s experience across military, law-enforcement, and civilian markets is especially relevant in the handgun-sight category, where durability, low-light visibility, and straightforward operation matter more than unnecessary complexity. Meprolight also produces sighting systems for pistols, rifles, shotguns, and carbines, giving it a broad base in both defensive and sporting applications. That background is reflected in products such as the Tru-Dot series, which combine a conventional sight picture with self-illuminated tritium technology for dependable use in changing light conditions.
