Meprolight Tru-Dot for IWI Galil

• Self-illuminated tritium system: The Meprolight Tru-Dot for IWI Galil stays visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the sight picture is always available when ambient light is poor.
• Three-dot aiming layout: The familiar dot arrangement helps the eye center the front and rear sight quickly, supporting faster alignment for defensive, duty, or field rifle use.
• Steel construction: A steel body gives the sight set the strength needed for hard use on a rifle platform, helping it hold up to repeated handling and rough conditions.
• Fixed sight design: With a fixed setup, the sight remains simple and robust, reducing complexity and keeping the system focused on dependable day-and-night aiming.
• U-notch rear sight: The rear U configuration gives a clear reference around the front sight, making sight acquisition feel more natural when speed matters.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot sights are built as replacement iron sights for compatible firearms, with the series centered on a simple idea: provide a sight picture that remains usable in both daylight and low-light conditions. In Meprolight’s catalog, the family includes fixed, adjustable, and suppressor-height variants, covering different firearm types and user preferences while keeping the same basic three-dot concept. The defining technology is tritium illumination, which gives the sights a constant aiming reference without batteries or switches.

Across the series, the emphasis is on practical carry and field use rather than complexity. The three-dot layout is intended to look familiar in bright conditions and remain readable as light fades, which helps reduce the transition between daytime shooting and nighttime use. Depending on the model, the range includes options for different firearm brands and, in selected versions, different tritium dot color combinations. The result is a family of iron sights designed for shooters who want direct replacement sights, consistent alignment, and dependable visibility with minimal maintenance.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for IWI Galil

The Meprolight Tru-Dot for IWI Galil is a dedicated rifle night sight set made for shooters who want a durable iron-sight solution that remains effective after dark. Its defining feature is the self-illuminated tritium system, which keeps the aiming reference visible around the clock without relying on batteries. That matters on a rifle such as the Galil, where simplicity and readiness are often more important than added controls or electronics.

This model uses a fixed sight configuration, which favors ruggedness and straightforward operation. There are no illumination settings to manage and no power source to monitor, so the sight is always ready in the same way every time the rifle is brought up. The U-notch rear sight helps frame the front sight cleanly, giving the shooter a natural reference for quick alignment. In practical use, that supports faster sight acquisition at close to moderate distances, especially when lighting is uneven.

The housing is made from steel, giving the sight set the strength expected from a rifle accessory intended for hard use. Combined with its black finish and compact fixed form, the design stays unobtrusive on the rifle while prioritizing reliability. For Galil owners who want an iron sight set that works in daylight, twilight, and darkness with minimal upkeep, this model focuses on exactly that role.
