MDT Traveler Shooting Bag

• Compact rear support: The Traveler Shooting Bag gives the rifle a stable rear contact point without adding the bulk of a larger benchrest bag, making it practical for range work, field shooting, and improvised positions.
• 500D Cordura construction: The durable outer fabric stands up to repeated use on rough surfaces and in wet conditions, so the bag keeps its shape and remains dependable over time.
• Carry-friendly design: A removable webbing lanyard and integrated hand strap make the bag easy to grab, reposition, or attach to gear, which helps when moving between stages or shooting locations.
• Choice of fill types: Available with Spex Lite or House Fill, the bag can be set up for lower carry weight or a more traditional, heavier feel depending on how the rifle will be supported.
• Versatile field use: Its simple shape works as a rear bag, a support under the fore-end, or a general stabilizing rest, giving shooters one accessory that adapts to different rifles and positions.

About the MDT Accessories Series

MDT Accessories sits alongside the company’s chassis and magazine lines as the supporting part of the broader precision-rifle ecosystem. Rather than focusing on one type of component, the series covers the practical add-ons that help shooters refine rifle balance, fit, and handling in real use. Within the range are M-LOK components, weights, magazine accessories, buttstock accessories, bolt knobs, hoods, and other utility items that support both target shooting and hunting setups.

A defining trait of the series is that compatibility varies by accessory. Some parts are designed around specific MDT chassis or buttstocks, while others are more universal in purpose. Across the line, the emphasis is on solving setup problems that matter on the firing line or in the field: adjusting weight distribution, improving rifle support, or making gear easier to carry and manage. That makes the series relevant not only to dedicated competition rifles, but also to practical hunting and training builds where small accessories can make the rifle more stable and easier to use.

About the MDT Traveler Shooting Bag

The MDT Traveler Shooting Bag is a compact soft shooting rest built for shooters who want useful rear support without carrying a large, heavy bag. Its role is straightforward but important: it helps fine-tune elevation at the buttstock, steadies the rifle on uneven surfaces, and gives the shooter a more repeatable contact point when shooting prone, off a bench, or from improvised field positions. That makes it a practical addition to both precision shooting kits and general-purpose hunting gear.

The bag uses 500D Cordura fabric with Mil-Spec nylon webbing straps, a combination chosen for abrasion resistance and dependable handling. In practice, that means it tolerates repeated contact with gravel, benches, barricades, and damp ground better than lighter casual materials. The dedicated hand strap helps keep the bag secure during quick adjustments, while the removable keep-along strap adds flexibility for transport between stages or shooting locations.

MDT offers the Traveler with Spex Lite 8 oz fill or House Fill 1 Lb, which changes how the bag behaves in use. The lighter option suits shooters who want to save pack weight and keep a support bag on hand at all times, while the heavier fill gives a more planted feel for deliberate shooting. With 8" x 6" x 1" dimensions, the Traveler stays easy to pack yet large enough to provide meaningful support under the rifle when stability matters.

About MDT

MDT Sporting Goods was established in 2009 and began in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada. The company designs, manufactures, and sells rifle chassis systems, magazines, buttstocks, and accessories for target shooting and hunting, with its head office remaining in British Columbia. MDT identifies the TAC21 as its first chassis, which reflects the company’s long-standing focus on improving rifle ergonomics and support systems rather than treating accessories as afterthoughts.

Today, MDT’s range includes rifle chassis, stocks, magazines, bipods, scope bases, and scope rings, with product development informed by input from competitive precision shooters. That background is especially relevant to shooting support gear such as the Traveler bag, because MDT’s design approach is rooted in practical rifle handling, stability, and repeatability under field and range conditions.
