MAKlassic Rear Pivot Base, Drop Barrel Guns, 15 mm Dovetail

• Rear Pivot Base for 15 mm Dovetails: Built for drop barrel guns with a 15 mm dovetail, this rear base provides the correct interface for a classic pivot-mount setup and helps keep scope installation consistent on break-action firearms.
• Steel Construction: The steel body gives the base the rigidity needed for repeatable mounting, helping the optic return to the same position after removal and reinstallation.
• Low 2.50 mm Build Height: With a BH height of 2.50 mm, the base keeps the mounting platform close to the firearm, which supports a lower sight line and a more natural cheek weld.
• 0 MOA Alignment: The 0 MOA inclination suits straightforward hunting and general sporting setups where a neutral mounting angle is preferred over built-in cant.
• Made in Germany: Manufactured in Germany, this MAKlassic component reflects the precise machining and fit expected from a mount part that must work reliably with a pivot system.

About the MAKlassic Series

MAKlassic is MAK’s traditional line of two-piece pivot mounts for rifles and break-action firearms. The series was documented in MAK catalogues by 2019 and is built around the practical needs of hunters and sporting users who want a removable scope mount that preserves the handling of classic firearms. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, the MAKlassic family includes configurations tailored to specific rifle models, along with different mount heights and front-foot offsets to suit varying receiver shapes and optic dimensions.

A defining characteristic of the series is its broad mechanical choice. MAKlassic mounts are available with rotating locks and lever locks, and the range includes versions for both scope tubes and optic rails. That makes the series especially relevant for users of traditional hunting rifles and kipplauf or other break-barrel designs, where a compact, detachable mounting solution is often preferred. The overall design philosophy is straightforward: a secure pivoting interface, model-specific fit, and a layout that keeps the firearm balanced while allowing the optic to be removed when needed.

About the MAKlassic Rear Pivot Base, Drop Barrel Guns, 15 mm Dovetail

The MAKlassic Rear Pivot Base is a dedicated rear mounting component for drop barrel guns that use a 15 mm dovetail. In a pivot-mount system, the rear base plays an important role in how securely the optic locks into place and how consistently it returns to position after the scope is detached and refitted. That makes this part particularly relevant for traditional hunting firearms, where a removable scope is often valued for transport, storage, or switching between scoped and open-sight use.

Its steel construction is well suited to this job because it prioritizes rigidity and wear resistance at a key contact point in the mount. The compact 18.00 mm length and low 2.50 mm build height help keep the mounting arrangement neat and close to the barrel or action, which supports a lower overall optic position. In practice, that can improve head position behind the scope and preserve the clean lines that owners of break-action firearms often want to maintain.

The base uses a 0 MOA inclination, making it appropriate for conventional sighting setups without added cant. Finished in black and made in Germany, it fits naturally into the MAKlassic system as a purpose-built spare or replacement part for a classic pivot mount on a 15 mm dovetail platform.
