Levenhuk Monaco ED 10x42

• ED optical system: Extra-low-dispersion glass helps reduce color fringing and preserves fine detail, which is especially useful when watching birds against bright skies or scanning game at longer distances.
• 10x42 configuration: The 10x magnification gives more reach for open-country observation, while the 42 mm objectives keep the image bright enough for general daylight use and the last light of the day.
• Long 18 mm eye relief: The generous eye relief makes the binoculars easier to use with glasses and helps maintain a full field of view without constant repositioning.
• Waterproof, nitrogen-filled housing: The sealed construction resists rain, splashes, internal fogging, and short exposure to wet conditions, making the binoculars more dependable in changing weather.
• Central focusing with tripod adaptability: Fast central focus is practical for following moving subjects, and the tripod mount option adds stability for prolonged observation from a fixed position.

About the Levenhuk Monaco Series

The Levenhuk Monaco series is positioned as a premium roof-prism binocular family for users who need a compact field format without giving up optical refinement. The lineup covers several configurations, from lighter travel-friendly models to larger versions intended for longer-range observation, with options spanning 8× to 15× magnification and objective sizes from 25 mm to 56 mm. That gives the series broad appeal for hunting optics, birdwatching, and general outdoor use.

Within the range, Monaco ED models stand out for their use of extra-low-dispersion glass, combined with five-element eyepieces and four-element objective lenses. In practical terms, that design aims to improve contrast and reduce visible chromatic aberration, especially around high-contrast edges. The series also uses roof prisms with dielectric coatings and fully multi-coated lenses to support brightness and image fidelity in a slimmer body than a comparable Porro design. Across the family, the design philosophy is clearly field-oriented: waterproof, nitrogen-filled construction, central focusing, twist-up eyecups, tripod adaptability, and housings built to handle regular outdoor use.

About the Levenhuk Monaco ED 10x42

The Levenhuk Monaco ED 10x42 is the balanced all-round model in the series, combining 10x magnification with a 42 mm objective for users who want more reach than an 8x binocular without moving into the added size and shake sensitivity of higher magnifications. That makes it well suited to birdwatching, hunting, wildlife observation, and general field use where detail at medium to long distances matters. Its 114 m/1000 m field of view remains wide enough for tracking moving subjects, while the 10x image scale helps with identification.

The optical system is built around ED glass, fully multi-coated lenses, and a roof prism layout. In practice, this combination supports a cleaner image with better control of color fringing and good contrast in difficult light, such as bright backgrounds, woodland edges, or overcast conditions. The 4.20 mm exit pupil offers a useful compromise between brightness and portability, and the 18.00 mm eye relief is particularly welcome for eyeglass wearers. A close focus distance of 2.00 m also makes the binoculars versatile enough for nearby subjects such as insects, feeders, or dense vegetation.

Mechanically, the binoculars are designed for practical outdoor handling. The central focusing system allows quick adjustment when subjects change distance, while the right-eye diopter helps fine-tune the view to the user’s eyesight. The aluminium body, nitrogen filling, waterproof and fogproof construction, and single-hinge format all contribute to a field binocular that is easy to carry, stable in the hands, and ready for wet or changeable conditions.

About Levenhuk

Levenhuk began operations in 2002, initially focusing on markets outside the United States. The company describes itself as an American manufacturer of optical instruments with headquarters in Tampa, Florida, and its product range spans binoculars, spotting scopes, telescopes, monoculars, and microscopes. For users shopping in categories such as hunting optics and observation equipment, that breadth matters because it shows a long-term focus on practical field and educational optics rather than a single-product catalog.

Within binoculars, Levenhuk has developed several established lines, including Atom, Karma, Sherman, and Vegas, while also offering more specialized products such as Fatum thermal scopes and Halo and Atom Digital night-vision devices. The company states that its manufacturing facilities are in China. In the binocular segment, Levenhuk is particularly associated with accessible roof-prism and Porro-prism models, as well as ED-glass designs intended for users who want better correction of optical aberrations in demanding outdoor observation.
