Hawke Endurance ED Marine 7x32 Product description

  • 7× Magnification — The Standard for Marine Use: The 7× magnification is the most widely recommended power for marine binoculars. Lower magnification than typical hunting or nature observation binoculars provides a wider field of view and a more stable hand-held image on a moving vessel — where the combined motion of waves and vessel movement makes higher magnification binoculars difficult to use effectively at sea. The field of view of 145 metres at 1,000 metres is one of the widest available in the 7×32 marine binocular class, supporting fast scanning of the horizon and rapid target acquisition on open water.
  • Extra-Low Dispersion Glass with Phase Corrected BAK-4 Roof Prisms: The Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass reduces chromatic aberration and colour fringing, delivering a clean, neutrally rendered image with minimal colour artefacts on high-contrast subjects — particularly relevant in the high-contrast marine environment of bright water surfaces and dark vessel silhouettes. The phase corrected BAK-4 roof prisms and fully multi-coated lenses maintain resolution and contrast across the full aperture.
  • Floating Neck Strap — Essential for Marine Use: The Endurance ED Marine is supplied as standard with a floating neck strap rather than the standard neck cord provided with terrestrial binoculars. A floating strap keeps the binoculars buoyant on the water surface if accidentally dropped overboard — a critical safety feature for marine use where retrieving dropped equipment at sea is often impossible.
  • Waterproof and Fogproof with Tripod Thread and Stay-On Covers: The body is nitrogen purged, waterproof, and fogproof — essential specifications for the salt spray, rain, and moisture-laden environments of marine use. The built-in ¼"-20 UNC tripod mounting thread supports use on a chart table or vessel-mounted binocular holder during extended navigation. Stay-on objective lens covers remain attached during use.
  • Distinctive Blue Finish with Marine-Optimised Ergonomics: The blue rubber-armoured finish distinguishes the Marine series visually from the green terrestrial Endurance ED models and provides a secure, high-grip surface in wet conditions. The 17mm of eye relief and twist-up eyecups with position stops accommodate comfortable use with or without corrective lenses, and the close focus distance of 2 metres extends usability to close-range targets when needed.

About the Endurance ED Marine Series

The Hawke Endurance ED Marine series is Hawke's dedicated marine optics range, built on the H5 optical system with Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass and phase corrected BAK-4 roof prisms specifically configured for the demands of marine and boating use. The series is designed around the specific requirements of on-water observation — where image stability during vessel motion, wide fields of view, and buoyancy safety features are more important than the high magnification prioritised in hunting and nature observation binoculars.

All Endurance ED Marine models feature ED glass, phase-corrected prisms, fully multi-coated lenses, a distinctive blue rubber-armoured finish, nitrogen purging, full waterproofing, a built-in tripod mounting thread, stay-on lens covers, and the characteristic floating neck strap — a critical safety feature that keeps the binoculars buoyant on water if dropped. The series is available in binocular configurations covering 7×32 (without compass), 7×50 (without compass), and 7×50 (with illuminated compass), as well as monocular configurations.

About the Model (Hawke Endurance ED Marine 7x32)

The Hawke Endurance ED Marine 7x32 is the compact, lightweight model in the Endurance ED Marine binocular range, designed for sailors, coastal walkers, fishing enthusiasts, and boaters who need a purpose-built marine optic in a manageable size and weight. The 7× magnification with a 32mm objective lens delivers a field of view of 145 metres at 1,000 metres and an apparent field of view of 58° — one of the widest in the 7×32 class — providing excellent horizon scanning capability and fast target acquisition on open water. At 545 g, it is the lightest binocular in the Marine lineup, suited to extended on-deck use without fatigue.

The ED glass lens elements reduce chromatic aberration and colour fringing for a clean image on the high-contrast subjects encountered at sea. The phase corrected BAK-4 roof prisms and fully multi-coated lenses provide high resolution and contrast throughout the field. The exit pupil of 4.6mm and 17mm of eye relief support comfortable use in varying marine light conditions, from bright noon sun to overcast coastal conditions. The close focus distance of 2 metres allows close-range identification when needed.

The body is nitrogen purged, waterproof, and fogproof, with a blue high-grip rubber exterior. The supplied floating neck strap keeps the binoculars buoyant if dropped overboard. The built-in ¼"-20 UNC tripod mounting thread supports use on chart table mounts or vessel binocular holders. Stay-on objective lens covers remain attached during use. Dimensions are 110–131 mm wide × 122 mm high.
