GRS Thumbhole, Remington 700 BDL LA

• Thumbhole hunting stock: The ergonomic thumbhole shape gives a more natural wrist angle and a secure firing-hand position, helping the rifle feel steadier in field shooting positions and during longer sessions on the range.
• Adjustable cheek piece: Built-in cheek piece adjustment makes it easier to achieve consistent eye alignment behind the optic, which supports faster sight acquisition and more repeatable shooting.
• Laminated construction: The laminate build combines rigidity with good dimensional stability, giving the stock a solid feel and helping it cope well with changing weather during hunting use.
• Glass bedding interface: Glass bedding supports a stable action fit, which helps the rifle return to the same position in the stock and can contribute to more consistent accuracy.
• Field-oriented dimensions: With a 390.00 mm length of pull, 40.00 mm forend width and 1300.00 g weight, the stock balances practical carry comfort with enough substance for controlled shooting.

About the GRS Thumbhole Series

GRS Thumbhole is the company’s first thumbhole stock design and remains part of its laminate-stock range for hunters and shooters who want a more supportive grip shape than a conventional sporter stock. GRS positions the series for use both in the field and at the shooting range, which explains its blend of practical handling, stable construction and user-focused adjustability. The series is made from birch laminate with an oiled finish, giving it the solid feel and weather resistance expected from a hunting stock while preserving the warm, traditional character many shooters prefer.

A defining feature across the range is GRS SpeedLock adjustment, which reflects the brand’s focus on making rifle fit easier to tailor without turning the stock into a bulky target-only platform. The Thumbhole series is offered for multiple rifle brands and actions, including models such as Schulz & Larsen, and it is available in several finishes including Brown, Green Mountain Camo, Nordic Wolf, Orange and Black. Overall, the series sits in the GRS lineup as a practical hunting stock with a more controlled grip geometry, intended for shooters who want better comfort, steadier support and a more repeatable head position behind an optic.

About the GRS Thumbhole, Remington 700 BDL LA

The GRS Thumbhole, Remington 700 BDL LA is built for shooters who want to give a Remington 700 BDL long action a more supportive stock for hunting and general field use. Its thumbhole layout promotes a relaxed wrist angle and a firmer hand position than a conventional stock, which is especially useful when shooting from improvised rests, prone positions or from a stand. That more controlled grip can make the rifle feel calmer through the shot and easier to manage during follow-up shots.

The stock uses laminate construction, combining stiffness with the robust feel many hunters appreciate in a rifle that may be carried through woodland, used on driven hunts or taken into alpine terrain. The adjustable cheek piece is one of the most practical features on this model, because it helps the shooter set proper eye height behind a scope instead of adapting their head position to the rifle. That usually means a more natural cheek weld, quicker sight picture and more consistent shot placement.

With a 390.00 mm length of pull, 40.00 mm forend width and 1300.00 g weight, this stock is configured to remain portable while still offering enough surface area and mass for stable handling. The glass bedding arrangement supports a precise fit between action and stock, helping maintain consistency. Rated up to .375 HH, it is suited to serious hunting calibers, while the non-folding design keeps the structure straightforward and field-ready.

About GRS

GRS traces its history to 2010 in Grodås, Hornindal, Norway, when the brand began focusing on rifle stocks for hunting and shooting. The business grew out of a family company that started in 1983 as Grodås Møbler AS, a furniture manufacturer, and that background helps explain GRS’s emphasis on stock shaping, fit and materials. GRS specializes in laminate, composite and aluminum chassis stocks, covering both hunting and more precision-oriented applications.

The company began making laminate rifle stocks in 2011 and has since developed a broad lineup that includes Hunter Light, Sporter, Bifrost, Fenris, Warg and Ragnarok. A notable part of the brand’s identity is GRS SpeedLock, its stock-adjustment system designed to make fit changes quick and practical. With headquarters in Hornindal, Norway, GRS has built a reputation around ergonomic rifle stocks that combine Scandinavian design priorities with real-world shooting functionality.
