GRS Lightweight Classic, Howa 1500 Superlite

• Lightweight laminate construction: At 900.00 g, this stock keeps overall rifle weight down for long days in steep terrain while still giving the rigidity and stability expected from a laminated hunting stock.
• Adjustable cheekpiece: The push-button cheekpiece adjustment helps align the eye naturally behind the scope, improving comfort, repeatable head position, and more consistent shooting from field positions.
• Classic ambidextrous grip: The series uses a classic grip shape that suits both right- and left-handed shooters, giving a familiar hold for stalking, supported shots, and general hunting use.
• Glass-bedding-ready design: With glass bedding, the stock is set up for a stable action fit that can support dependable accuracy and consistent point of impact over time.
• Added grip texture: Extra texture on the gripping surfaces helps maintain control in wet, cold, or gloved conditions, which matters on mountain hunts and fast field shots.

About the GRS Lightweight Classic Series

GRS Lightweight Classic is a modern laminate hunting-stock series created for shooters who want the familiar handling of a classic rifle stock with the fit advantages GRS is known for. Introduced in the 2026 catalogue, the series sits in the company’s laminate-stock range as a lighter option for hunters building or upgrading a rifle for carrying over long distances. Its focus is clear: keep weight down, preserve practical field ergonomics, and retain the adjustability that helps a scoped rifle fit the shooter correctly.

The series uses birch laminate with an oiled finish and is intended for standard slim barrel channels, making it especially relevant for lightweight hunting rifles and mountain setups. A push-button cheekpiece provides quick height adjustment, while spacers can extend length of pull by up to 4 cm when needed. The stock also uses an ambidextrous classic grip, giving it broader appeal than more specialized target-style designs. In practical terms, the Lightweight Classic series is aimed at hunters who want a lighter stock without giving up stable shooting support, repeatable cheek weld, and the weather-resistant durability that laminate construction brings to hard field use.

About the GRS Lightweight Classic, Howa 1500 Superlite

GRS Lightweight Classic, Howa 1500 Superlite is tailored to pair the Lightweight Classic concept with the Howa 1500 Superlite platform, creating a hunting stock that complements a rifle built around low carry weight and practical field handling. For alpine hunting and general stalking, the stock’s 900.00 g weight helps preserve the quick, easy-to-carry character of the rifle, while the laminate structure adds a more solid feel than many ultralight alternatives. That balance matters when a rifle must be carried all day but still settle well for a deliberate shot.

The stock’s 325.00 mm length of pull and 45.00 mm forend width support controlled handling in improvised field positions, whether shooting off a pack, over natural support, or from a standing rest. Its adjustable cheekpiece is one of the most useful features on a lightweight hunting rifle, because it helps the shooter maintain proper eye alignment with the optic instead of adapting awkwardly to the scope height. The result is faster sight acquisition and a more repeatable shooting position.

Added grip texture improves purchase in rain, cold, and gloved use, while the glass bedding setup supports a secure action fit for consistent performance. The non-folding design keeps the stock simple and field-oriented, and the laminate construction offers a good mix of stiffness, durability, and resistance to changing outdoor conditions. Overall, this model is built for hunters who want a lighter rifle stock with practical adjustability rather than a stripped-down compromise.

About GRS

GRS traces its history to 2010 in Grodås, Hornindal, Norway, and the company remains headquartered in Hornindal. The business focuses on rifle stocks for hunting and shooting, with a range that includes laminate, composite, and aluminum chassis designs. Its product families include Hunter Light, Sporter, Bifrost, Fenris, Warg, and Ragnarok, covering everything from lightweight hunting rifles to more specialized long-range and competition setups.

A key part of the brand’s identity is practical stock fit. GRS uses systems such as SpeedLock to make adjustment straightforward, helping shooters achieve better head position and rifle control without unnecessary complexity. The company’s background also reflects its material expertise: the family business began in 1983 as Grodås Møbler AS, a furniture manufacturer, before GRS moved into rifle stocks and began producing laminate rifle stocks in 2011. That heritage is especially relevant in products such as the Lightweight Classic, where stock shaping, laminate construction, and field ergonomics are central to the design.
