Element Optics ETX Product description

FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS

  • 3 MOA or 6 MOA Red Dot: Available with two aiming dot sizes, allowing shooters to choose between a smaller aiming reference for precise shot placement and a larger dot that is easier to locate during rapid target acquisition.
  • Automatic and Manual Brightness Adjustment: A forward-facing ambient light sensor automatically adjusts dot intensity to lighting conditions, while 10 manually selectable settings provide additional control, including two night vision-compatible levels.
  • Shake-to-Wake Technology: Automatically places the illuminated dot into standby after 120 seconds without movement and immediately reactivates it when motion is detected, helping conserve battery power.
  • RMR Footprint and Picatinny Adapter: The widely used RMR mounting interface allows installation on compatible optics-ready pistols and adapter plates, while the included Picatinny mount provides additional mounting options for rifles, carbines, and shotguns.
  • Top-Mounted Battery and Durable Construction: The CR1632 battery can be replaced without removing the sight from its mount, while the shockproof, weather-resistant housing and large viewing window support practical operation in different shooting environments.

ABOUT THE ELEMENT OPTICS ETX RED DOT SERIES

The Element Optics ETX Red Dot series consists of compact open reflex sights designed for pistols, shotguns, rifles, and carbines. Developed as a versatile electronic aiming solution, the ETX platform combines a non-magnifying optical system with practical electronic functions and a mounting interface suitable for different firearm configurations.

A defining characteristic of the ETX platform is its large viewing window and low-profile construction. The open reflex design allows shooters to maintain peripheral awareness while acquiring the illuminated aiming point. Unlike conventional magnified optics, the 1x viewing system is intended for rapid target acquisition and shooting situations where maintaining visual awareness is important.

The series uses a parallax-free optical design with low image distortion, helping shooters maintain a clear view of the target. The illuminated aiming dot is available in different sizes to accommodate individual shooting preferences and applications.

ETX sights incorporate several electronic features designed to simplify operation. These include automatic brightness adjustment, manual illumination control, Shake-to-Wake activation, and a button lockout function to prevent accidental changes.

The platform uses the popular RMR mounting footprint, making it compatible with suitable optics-ready pistol slides and mounting plates. An included Picatinny adapter extends mounting compatibility to other firearms and accessory rails.

With its combination of flexible mounting, accessible controls, and compact dimensions, the ETX platform is intended for recreational shooting, practical shooting competitions, and general-purpose firearm applications.

ABOUT THE ELEMENT OPTICS ETX RED DOT

The Element Optics ETX Red Dot is a compact open reflex sight designed to provide rapid target acquisition and a clearly visible aiming reference on pistols, shotguns, rifles, and carbines. Its combination of a large viewing window, low-profile housing, and electronic brightness control makes it suitable for different shooting configurations and lighting conditions.

The sight features a 1x non-magnifying optical system, allowing shooters to maintain a natural perspective of the target and surrounding environment. Unlike magnified riflescopes, the ETX does not enlarge the observed image. This allows shooting with both eyes open, helping preserve peripheral awareness and making the sight particularly useful during dynamic shooting activities.

The large viewing window provides an unobstructed aiming area, making it easier to locate the illuminated dot when bringing the firearm into the shooting position. The optical system is designed with low distortion and is specified by the manufacturer as parallax-free, allowing the shooter to focus on the target rather than the surface of the lens.

The ETX is available with either a 3 MOA or 6 MOA illuminated red dot. The 3 MOA configuration provides a relatively small aiming reference, making it suitable for shooters who prioritize precise shot placement. The 6 MOA configuration produces a larger aiming point that is easier to locate quickly, particularly during rapid target transitions and close-range shooting.

The sight provides 10 brightness settings, consisting of eight daylight settings and two night vision-compatible settings. Illumination can be adjusted manually using the two buttons positioned on opposite sides of the lens housing, allowing users to match the brightness of the aiming dot to different lighting conditions.

Another important feature is the automatic brightness adjustment system. A forward-facing ambient light sensor detects the lighting conditions in front of the sight and automatically adjusts dot intensity. This reduces the need for manual adjustments when moving between environments with different levels of illumination.

Users can switch between automatic and manual brightness modes according to their preferences. In manual mode, the ETX also provides a button lockout function, preventing unintentional brightness changes caused by accidental contact with the controls.

The ETX incorporates Shake-to-Wake technology, which automatically places the illuminated dot into standby after approximately 120 seconds without movement. The aiming point immediately reactivates when motion is detected. This function reduces unnecessary energy consumption while allowing the sight to remain ready for use without requiring the illumination to be switched on manually every time.

Power is supplied by a CR1632 lithium battery, housed in a top-mounted battery compartment. This design allows the battery to be replaced without removing the optic from the firearm or disturbing its mounting position. The battery cap can be opened using the supplied T10 Torx tool, providing straightforward access for battery replacement.

The sight uses the widely adopted RMR mounting footprint, allowing direct installation on compatible optics-ready pistol slides and mounting plates. Its low-profile construction makes it suitable for firearm configurations where additional sight height should be minimized.

For greater mounting flexibility, the ETX is also supplied with a Picatinny rail adapter. This allows installation on compatible Picatinny rails, including rifle and carbine mounting platforms. The adapter can also be used with suitable offset accessory mounts, allowing the ETX to function as an auxiliary aiming sight alongside a primary optic.

The windage and elevation adjustment mechanisms provide 1 MOA per click, allowing precise correction when zeroing the sight. Each adjustment mechanism provides 24 MOA of travel per rotation, while the total elevation and windage adjustment ranges are both 120 MOA. These adjustment ranges provide flexibility when establishing the desired point of impact on different compatible firearms.

The ETX features a shockproof and weather-resistant construction, designed to withstand the handling and environmental conditions associated with regular firearm use. Its rugged housing helps protect the optical and electronic components, while the open reflex design maintains a relatively compact profile.

With a weight of approximately 52 grams, the ETX adds relatively little weight to the firearm. Its combination of compact construction and unlimited eye relief allows flexible positioning on compatible mounting systems without requiring the fixed eye-to-eyepiece distance associated with conventional magnified riflescopes.

The Element Optics ETX Red Dot combines a clear illuminated aiming point, automatic brightness adjustment, Shake-to-Wake technology, and versatile mounting compatibility. These characteristics make it a practical choice for shooters seeking a compact electronic sight for recreational shooting, practical competitions, and general-purpose firearm use.
