EAW Roll-off Mount for Ruger M 77, 30 mm

• Detachable roll-off design: The mount lets the riflescope be removed and reattached, which is useful when switching optics, transporting the rifle more compactly, or returning to iron sights where the firearm allows it.
• 30 mm ring interface: Built for scopes with a 30 mm main tube, this format supports a wide choice of modern hunting optics while giving a secure, correctly matched clamping surface.
• Ruger-specific fit: Designed for Ruger M77-pattern rifles and related Ruger actions, the mount matches the rifle platform directly, helping create a clean installation without unnecessary adapters.
• Aluminium construction: The aluminium body keeps weight down compared with heavier all-steel solutions, which helps preserve the balance of lighter sporting rifles carried over long distances.
• Made in Germany: German manufacture and EAW’s long-standing focus on scope mounts make this model appealing to shooters who value precise machining and repeatable mechanical fit.

About the EAW Roll-off Mounts Series

EAW Roll-off Mounts sit in the manufacturer’s range as a practical, economical alternative to the company’s more elaborate pivot-mount systems. The series is intended for shooters who want a dependable detachable mounting solution for lighter rifle setups without moving to a more complex design. Across the range, EAW offers both one-piece and two-piece configurations, with versions made for common rifle actions, dovetail interfaces and Picatinny-based applications.

A defining strength of the series is its focus on repeatable removal and reattachment. That makes it useful for hunters and sporting shooters who may need to change optics, remove a scope for transport, or keep the rifle adaptable for different roles. Depending on the model, the series can include fixed arrangements or lever-lock versions, and some variants use pivot-mounted rings or prisms with side support. In practical terms, the Roll-off line is built around straightforward handling, solid alignment and compatibility with a broad range of lighter firearms and optic formats.

About the EAW Roll-off Mount for Ruger M 77, 30 mm

The EAW Roll-off Mount for Ruger M 77, 30 mm is a detachable scope mount made for Ruger M77-pattern rifles and related Ruger models that share the same mounting pattern. Its main purpose is simple: to provide a secure 30 mm mounting platform for a riflescope while keeping the rifle easy to configure for different uses. For hunters and sporting shooters, that means the optic can be removed when needed and reinstalled without turning the rifle into a permanently scope-only setup.

The 30 mm ring size suits a large part of the modern riflescope market, especially hunting optics that use a larger main tube for stronger construction and broader adjustment design. Because this mount is built specifically around the Ruger interface, it offers a neater and more direct solution than universal systems that rely on extra conversion parts. That matters in the field, where a simpler mounting layout often means fewer variables during installation and less unnecessary bulk on the rifle.

Aluminium construction keeps the mount lighter, which is especially relevant on compact sporting rifles where excess weight above the action can affect handling. Combined with EAW’s established roll-off concept, the result is a mount that prioritises practical use: low added weight, straightforward scope attachment, and the flexibility to remove and refit the optic when the shooting task changes.

About EAW

EAW traces its history to 1919, when Ernst Apel founded the company in Würzburg, Germany. The business entered the riflescope-mount field in 1945 and, since 1951, mount development and production have been its primary focus. Over time, EAW became closely associated with precision mounting solutions for sporting and specialist firearms, with production later moving from Würzburg to Gerbrunn in 1970 and the company now headquartered in Eibelstadt, Germany.

The company’s core expertise is in riflescope mounts, including pivot, slide-on or roll-off, and claw designs. That long concentration on mounting systems is what makes EAW particularly relevant in this category: its products are built around fit, repeatability and mechanical precision rather than being a side line within a broader optics catalogue. In recent years, EAW has also expanded into tactical-mount solutions and thermal imaging products.
