Crimson Trace CWL-102 Tactical Light For Rail Equipped Long Guns

• 500 Lumen white light: Delivers enough output to identify targets, read terrain and work around cover at typical carbine and shotgun distances without adding unnecessary bulk.
• Remote or tailcap activation: The supplied pressure pad and tailcap switch give flexible control, so the light can be set up for momentary use from a natural support-hand position or operated directly at the rear.
• Broad rail compatibility: Fits M1913 Picatinny, KeyMod and M-LOK long guns, which makes it easier to move the light between rifles, carbines and shotguns with different handguard systems.
• Anodized aluminum housing: The metal body keeps weight low while standing up better to knocks, repeated handling and field use than a basic polymer light body.
• Waterproof construction: Sealing against water helps keep the light usable in rain, wet vegetation and general outdoor hunting or tactical use.

About the CWL Series

Crimson Trace CWL tactical lights are built as practical firearm-mounted illumination tools for users who need a straightforward white-light setup on a long gun. In the Crimson Trace lineup, the series sits alongside the company’s laser sights and other firearm accessories, focusing on fast target identification rather than aiming assistance. The design emphasis is simple operation, durable construction and compatibility with common rail systems used on modern rifles, carbines and shotguns.

Across the series, the key idea is a compact light body with controls that suit real shooting positions. Instant Activation and remote-switch options support momentary or constant use, which matters when navigating structures, checking dark corners or confirming what is in front of the muzzle before taking a shot. The series also favors anodized aluminum housings, weather-resistant construction and mounting hardware for widely used platforms such as Picatinny, M-LOK and KeyMod. That makes CWL lights relevant for defensive carbines, patrol-style rifles, practical range setups and general-purpose long guns that need dependable white-light capability without a large or complicated accessory package.

About the Crimson Trace CWL-102 Tactical Light For Rail Equipped Long Guns

The Crimson Trace CWL-102 is a compact weapon light intended for rifles, carbines and shotguns that need useful white-light output without excessive front-end weight. Its 500 lumen beam is suited to close- to mid-range identification tasks, whether the light is being used for defensive setups, training, pest control or general low-light field work. Because the body is short and light, it is easier to mount on handguards where space is limited and less likely to upset the handling of a fast-moving long gun.

One of the model’s most practical strengths is its flexible control layout. Tailcap activation allows direct operation at the rear of the light, while the included remote on/off pad can be positioned where the support hand naturally rests. That gives the user a cleaner way to access momentary light without shifting grip, which is especially useful on carbines and shotguns. The light also works with M1913 Picatinny, KeyMod and M-LOK mounting interfaces, so it adapts well to different rail-equipped firearms instead of being tied to one platform.

The housing is made from anodized aluminum, combining low weight with better resistance to knocks and hard use. Waterproofing and stated impact resistance add reassurance for outdoor use in poor weather or rough handling. The CWL-102 can also be removed and used as a handheld flashlight, which adds value for users who want one light to cover both weapon-mounted and general utility roles.

About Crimson Trace

Crimson Trace was established in 1994 and built its name around firearm-mounted aiming and illumination accessories. The company’s core expertise includes laser sights and firearm-mounted lights, with product families such as Lasergrips, Laserguard and Rail Master helping define its place in the shooting-accessories market. Crimson Trace also produces riflescopes and rangefinders, showing a broader focus on practical shooting and hunting optics rather than a single product type.

A notable part of the brand’s identity is Instinctive Activation, a control concept that places pressure pads where they can be engaged from a normal shooting grip. That emphasis on practical ergonomics carries over well into the company’s weapon-light products. Crimson Trace operates a facility in Columbia, Missouri, United States, and its catalog continues to center on accessories designed to integrate cleanly with defensive, sporting and field firearms.
