Contessa H&K 770

• Firearm-specific fit: This rail is made for the Heckler & Koch 770 pattern, giving a secure interface that matches the rifle correctly instead of relying on a generic base.
• 12 mm 60° dovetail profile: The 12 mm 60° geometry works with compatible Contessa dovetail mounts, making it a practical foundation for adding an optic while keeping the mounting system consistent.
• Hardened steel construction: Machined from solid steel, the rail is built to resist wear and repeated use, which matters on a mount that must hold alignment over time.
• Recoil-notch compatibility: Compatibility with a 12 mm dovetail with recoil notch helps the optic mounting setup stay stable under recoil and supports more repeatable positioning.
• Ready-to-install package: The supplied screws and wrench simplify installation, so the rail arrives with the basic hardware needed for mounting.

About the Contessa 12mm Rails Series

Contessa 12mm Rails are part of the company’s 12 mm 60° STD EU mounting range, developed for rifles and semiautomatic firearms that use the traditional European dovetail format. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all pattern, the series is built around firearm-specific fitments, so each rail is shaped for a defined receiver type. That approach matters in practice because it gives the installer a mounting base that matches the host firearm correctly and provides a cleaner, more secure interface for optical mounts.

The series uses a 12 mm, 60-degree dovetail profile and is intended to work with Contessa mounts for 12 mm 60° dovetails. Contessa describes these rails as hardened steel machined from solid, which reflects a design focus on rigidity, wear resistance and long service life. Within the range, fitments extend across bolt-action, single-shot and semiautomatic platforms, including models such as the Benelli Argo, Benelli M2 and Antonio Zoli AZ 1900. In practical terms, the series serves shooters who want a traditional dovetail mounting solution with model-specific compatibility and a durable steel base for scope or red-dot installation.

About the Contessa H&K 770

The Contessa H&K 770 is a dedicated 12 mm 60° rail made for the Heckler & Koch 770 platform and related compatible models in the same family. Its role is straightforward but important: it creates the correct mounting surface for optics on rifles that use this style of receiver interface. Because it is a firearm-specific rail rather than a universal adapter, it is suited to shooters who want a cleaner installation and dependable mechanical fit for hunting optics or general sporting rifle setups.

The rail is made from steel and finished in black, with a construction that prioritizes strength and long-term stability. On a mounting component, material choice matters because the base must keep the optic properly supported through handling, transport and repeated firing. Compatibility with both a 12 mm dovetail with recoil notch and the 12 mm Contessa dovetail makes it a useful bridge between the rifle and the upper mounting solution, while the recoil-notch interface helps support secure positioning under use.

This model is also practical from an installation standpoint. Contessa supplies screws and a wrench, so the rail arrives as a ready-to-fit component rather than just a bare base. For owners of the Heckler & Koch 630, 770, 940, SL6 and SL7 platforms, it provides a purpose-built way to add an optic mounting surface while staying within the Contessa 12 mm dovetail system.

About Contessa

Contessa was started by Stefano Contessa in 1974 in Marcheno, in Italy’s Valtrompia region, and the company began as a manufacturer of precision mechanical components. That background is directly relevant to scope mounting products, where machining accuracy and repeatable fit are central to performance. Contessa focuses on mounts for rifle scopes and red-dot sights used in hunting and shooting, with a range that includes Picatinny rails, scope rings, dovetail mounts and quick-detach systems.

In the early 2000s, the company introduced Simple Black, its first scope-mount line using patented mechanics, marking an important step in its move toward dedicated optical mounting systems. Contessa remains based in Marcheno, Brescia, Italy, and moved to a new factory in December 2017. Today, the brand is known for Italian-made mounting solutions that combine precise machining with product lines tailored to specific rifles, optics and mounting standards.
