Caldwell Fast Case Gun Cover

• Fast-access protective cover: The open-bottom design keeps the rifle covered during transport or while moving through rough ground, yet it can be pulled off quickly when the firearm needs to be brought into use without delay.
• Ballistic outer fabric: Durable ballistic material resists abrasion from thorns, brush and hard surfaces, helping protect the firearm from scuffs and wear during field carry.
• Water-resistant PVC lining: The lined fabric adds protection in rain and snow, reducing direct moisture exposure and helping keep the firearm drier in changing weather.
• Fits long guns from 40" to 54": The cover suits a broad range of rifles and shotguns, making it a practical option for hunters who use different long guns through the season.
• Compact packable format: The Fast Case folds down small enough to stow in a pack, so it adds weather and abrasion protection without taking up much space when not in use.

About the Fast Case Series

The Caldwell Fast Case series is built for shooters and hunters who want a lighter, quicker alternative to a traditional padded gun bag. Rather than focusing on storage or bench transport, this series is designed around field-ready firearm protection: shielding a rifle or shotgun from brush, moisture and surface abrasion while still allowing fast removal when conditions change. That makes the concept especially relevant for hunting use, where a firearm may be carried over the shoulder for long periods and exposed to rain, snow, mud or dense vegetation.

Across the series, the emphasis is on simple construction, durable synthetic materials and a shape that works with a slung long gun instead of replacing the sling system. The result is a cover that protects the firearm during movement but avoids the bulk and slower handling of a full-length zippered case. In Caldwell’s range of shooting accessories, the Fast Case line sits as a practical transport and field-protection solution for users who value speed, low weight and straightforward use over extra compartments or heavy padding.

About the Caldwell Fast Case Gun Cover

The Caldwell Fast Case Gun Cover is intended for shooters who need practical protection during rifle transportation and field carry without adding unnecessary bulk. Its 1016.00 mm inner length suits standard long-gun formats, while the official fit range of 40" to 54" broadens its usefulness across many rifles and shotguns. This makes it especially suitable for hunting trips, vehicle transport between stands, or carrying a firearm through brush where a bare stock and barrel would otherwise be exposed to scratches and moisture.

What sets this model apart is its focus on speed. The cover does not rely on a zipper, so there is no long opening sequence before the firearm can be used. Instead, the large lower opening allows the gun to remain on a standard sling while the cover is removed quickly. In practice, that means the firearm stays protected while walking, but access remains much faster than with a conventional soft case. The ballistic outer fabric is chosen to handle abrasive contact with thorns, brush and rough surfaces, while the PVC-lined construction adds water resistance for wet grass, rain and snow.

The all-polyester outer and inner materials keep the cover light and flexible, and the packable design makes it easy to stow when not needed. An optional shoulder strap gives additional carry flexibility, but the overall concept remains deliberately simple: a compact long-gun cover that protects the firearm in transit and in the field while preserving quick handling.

About Caldwell

Caldwell is a shooting-supplies brand focused on equipment for shooting ranges and firearms use. Its catalogue covers a broad spread of practical accessories, including shooting rests, targets, ballistic chronographs and electronic hearing protection, which places the brand firmly in the field of support equipment rather than firearms themselves. Within that range, Caldwell is particularly well known for product families such as the Lead Sled shooting rests and the E-Max electronic hearing protection line.

The brand also offers magazine-loading products under the Mag Charger name, alongside steel targets and target-launching equipment. Caldwell became part of Battenfeld Technologies, a business later acquired by Smith & Wesson in December 2014. That background helps explain Caldwell’s focus on practical, use-driven products for range work, firearm handling and transport, including accessories such as the Fast Case Gun Cover.
