Caldwell AR500 Long Range Plate

• AR500 steel construction: The steel plate is built for repeated impact use, making it a practical choice for shooters who want a durable target that stands up to regular range sessions.
• Long-range target format: A plate intended for longer-distance shooting gives a clear visual aiming point and immediate feedback, which helps when practicing precision and consistency at extended ranges.
• Black finish: The dark finish gives the plate a clean, low-glare appearance and suits a wide range of target setups, whether it is used on a private range or as part of a larger steel-target layout.
• Target-system compatibility: As a dedicated steel target plate for Caldwell target setups, it fits naturally into modular range arrangements and makes it easier to build or expand a steel-target practice system.

About the Caldwell Accessories Series

The Caldwell Accessories series covers a broad mix of support equipment for range use, firearms handling, and shooting practice. Rather than focusing on one narrow product type, the series brings together practical add-ons that help shooters build a more complete setup around their rifles, pistols, and range gear. In Caldwell’s lineup, these products sit as utility-focused components designed to support regular training, target work, and general shooting organization.

Caldwell’s accessory range is aimed at shooters who value straightforward function and compatibility with real-world range use. Across the brand, Caldwell is known for products such as shooting rests, steel targets, ballistic chronographs, and electronic hearing protection, so the accessories category naturally fits users who want dependable gear that complements those core product families. The emphasis is typically on durable materials, simple handling, and designs that are easy to integrate into an existing shooting routine. For target-related items in particular, the series supports everything from casual practice to more structured marksmanship work, with a focus on repeatable use and uncomplicated setup.

About the Caldwell AR500 Long Range Plate

The Caldwell AR500 Long Range Plate is a steel target plate made for shooters who want a durable impact surface for extended-distance practice. Its core advantage is the use of steel construction, which gives the target the toughness needed for repeated range sessions while keeping the setup simple and purpose-driven. For long-range shooting, that matters because a target has to do more than just provide an aiming point; it also needs to hold up to ongoing use and remain a dependable part of a training routine.

As a target intended for the long-range role, this model suits shooters working on precision, shot placement, and consistency at distance. A steel plate format is especially useful in that context because it provides immediate feedback when hit, helping the shooter confirm impacts without walking downrange after every string. That makes practice more efficient and keeps attention on wind calls, hold corrections, and repeatable fundamentals.

The plate’s black finish gives it a clean, understated appearance and works well in a wide variety of target environments. Its straightforward design also makes it easy to incorporate into a broader target system for training or recreational shooting. For anyone building a steel-target setup around dependable materials and simple function, this Caldwell target is a practical choice for repeated use on the range.

About Caldwell

Caldwell is a shooting-supplies brand focused on equipment for shooting ranges and firearms use. The company’s catalog covers a wide spread of practical gear, including electronic hearing protection, shooting rests, targets, and ballistic chronographs. Within the shooting community, Caldwell is especially associated with products that support training, load development, and general range organization rather than firearms themselves.

The brand also includes well-known lines such as the Lead Sled shooting rests and the E-Max hearing protection range, showing its emphasis on equipment that helps shooters train more comfortably and consistently. Caldwell offers steel targets and target-launching equipment as part of that same practical approach. In December 2014, Smith & Wesson announced the acquisition of Battenfeld Technologies, which included Caldwell Shooting Supplies, further tying the brand to a larger group of established shooting-industry products.
