Bering Optics Prodigy PRO 2x35 Product description

  • 35 mm objective lens: The larger front lens gathers more thermal information than compact entry-level units, helping the monocular hold image detail at longer observation distances and making it easier to separate animals or people from the background.
  • 384x288 microbolometer sensor: This sensor resolution gives the Prodigy PRO enough detail for practical field observation while keeping the image responsive and easy to interpret during scanning, tracking, and general thermal spotting.
  • 2x base magnification with digital zoom to 8x: The optical starting magnification gives a closer native view for identifying heat sources, while the extended zoom range helps inspect distant targets without carrying a larger device.
  • 50 Hz refresh rate: A faster refresh rate keeps movement looking smoother when panning across terrain or following moving game, which reduces the laggy feel that can make handheld thermal observation tiring.
  • WiFi, photo and video recording: Built-in connectivity and recording functions let the monocular document observations and share footage, which is useful for scouting, recovery work, and reviewing what was seen after the outing.

About the Bering Optics Thermal Monoculars Series

The Bering Optics Thermal Monoculars series is built as a family of handheld thermal-imaging monoculars for scouting and observation, with a clear focus on detecting warm objects, animals, and people in darkness and in visually difficult conditions. Rather than relying on ambient light, these models read heat patterns, which makes them practical for field use in fog, smoke, and other situations where conventional optics lose effectiveness.

Within the range, Bering Optics separates models by lens size and viewing style. The Prodigy PRO uses 2x optical magnification, while other models in the family are configured around 1x viewing for wider-area scanning. Across the series, the operating concept stays straightforward: onboard controls handle power, zoom, brightness, and image polarity, so the user can adapt the display quickly in the field. Selectable thermal palettes such as black-hot and white-hot help the observer choose the image style that best suits terrain, temperature contrast, and target type. Some versions also add WiFi image and video capture, extending the series from simple observation tools into practical recording devices for scouting and documentation.

About the Bering Optics Prodigy PRO 2x35

The Bering Optics Prodigy PRO 2x35 is the longer-reaching model in the Prodigy handheld line, combining a 35.00 mm objective lens with 2.00 x native magnification for users who want more target detail than a true 1x scanner provides. That configuration suits observation from field edges, woodland openings, and mixed terrain where the priority is not just finding a heat source, but judging it more clearly before moving closer. With digital zoom extending to 8.00 x and a stated 700.00 m detection range, the monocular is set up for both broad scanning and closer inspection of distant signatures.

Its 384x288 microbolometer sensor, 25.00 μm pixel pitch, and 50.00 Hz refresh rate give the image enough structure and fluidity for practical handheld use. The smooth refresh rate matters when sweeping across a field or tracking movement, while the sensor format supports reliable heat-source recognition without making the display feel cluttered. The LCD display with 640x480 resolution presents the thermal image in a format that is easy to read during extended observation, and the diopter adjustment helps tailor the view to the observer's eyesight.

In day-to-day use, the Prodigy PRO 2x35 is built for mobility. Its 400.00 g weight and compact 190.00 mm length keep it manageable as a handheld unit, while the rubberized, waterproof and fogproof construction supports use in poor weather and changing temperatures. WiFi connectivity, image capture, video recording, video output, tripod adaptability, and auto turn-off add practical utility for longer sessions in the field, whether the monocular is used for hunting observation, property monitoring, or general thermal scouting.

About Bering Optics

Bering Optics was founded in 2009 and is headquartered in Irving, Texas, United States. The company focuses on designing and manufacturing thermal, night-vision, and daytime optical imaging products, giving it a product range that spans both traditional aiming optics and electronic observation devices. Its catalog includes thermal imaging and infrared systems as well as red-dot sights, prismatic scopes, telescopic sights, and laser boresights.

In the night-vision segment, Bering Optics has worked across Gen 1, Gen 2+, and Gen 3 technologies, and its lineup has included monoculars, binoculars, goggles, and riflescopes. That breadth is relevant to a product such as the Prodigy PRO because it shows the company's long-standing emphasis on field observation and low-light imaging rather than on conventional optics alone. The result is a brand closely associated with practical thermal and night-vision equipment for users who need detection and observation capability beyond daylight conditions.

Hello, I have had a Bering prodigy Pro since 2019 and have the problem that everything is foggy, even the battery indicator. The problem was there at the beginning too, so the camera was sent in and replaced. Can I still send it in or is a repair still possible or financially viable? Regards, Förtsch Martin
