Alpen Optics Apex LT 2.5-15x56 Gen.2

• 2.5-15x magnification range: Covers close woodland shots and longer open-ground holds in one riflescope, reducing the need to swap optics between different hunting setups.
• 56 mm objective lens: The large front lens supports a brighter sight picture in fading light, which is especially useful for dawn and dusk hunting when target detail becomes harder to read.
• Illuminated SFP reticle: The red illuminated reticle remains easy to pick up against dark backgrounds without changing its apparent size as magnification changes, helping with fast aiming at varied distances.
• Side parallax adjustment from 10 m to infinity: Fine focus at short and long distances helps keep the target and reticle on the same optical plane, improving precision when shooting from awkward field positions.
• Zero-stop elevation system: After dialing for distance, the turret returns quickly to the established zero, which simplifies repeatable adjustments during hunts where time and attention are limited.

About the Alpen Optics Apex LT Series

The Alpen Optics Apex LT series was introduced on February 25, 2024 as a more accessible riflescope line positioned alongside the Apex XP series. It is built for hunters who want practical magnification ranges and modern control features without moving into a heavier or more specialized tactical optic. Within the Alpen lineup, the series is aimed at general hunting use, with particular relevance for driven hunts and low-light hunting.

A defining feature of the range is its use of illuminated A4 reticles together with SmartDot technology, which uses a tilt sensor to manage reticle illumination automatically. In practice, that helps conserve battery power and keeps the illuminated aiming point ready when the rifle is brought into shooting position. The original Apex LT family included 1-6x24, 2-12x44, and 2.5-15x56 configurations, while the Gen 2 models focus on the 2-12x44 and 2.5-15x56 formats. These updated versions add an external objective-lens thread for direct attachment of compatible clip-on devices, reflecting a design approach centered on hunting flexibility rather than benchrest complexity.

About the Alpen Optics Apex LT 2.5-15x56 Gen.2

The Alpen Optics Apex LT 2.5-15x56 Gen.2 is configured as a versatile hunting riflescope for shooters who need one optic to cover mixed terrain and changing light. Its 2.5-15x magnification range gives a useful balance between a broad enough low end for shorter shots and enough top-end magnification for careful placement at longer distances. Combined with the 56 mm objective lens, it is particularly well suited to evening high-seat hunting, edge-of-woodland observation, and other situations where image brightness matters as much as magnification.

This model uses a second focal plane reticle with red illumination, so the reticle keeps the same apparent size throughout the zoom range. That makes it easy to see at low power and visually familiar at higher power, which many hunters prefer for fast target acquisition and uncluttered aiming. Daytime-usable illumination improves visibility against dark game or shaded backgrounds, while the auto shut-off function helps preserve the CR2032 battery during transport or pauses in the field.

The scope is also set up for practical dialing. Its capped turrets protect settings from accidental movement when the rifle is carried through brush or in a vehicle, while the zero-stop function allows a quick and confident return to the original zero after elevation correction. Side focus parallax adjustment from 10 m to infinity helps maintain a sharp image and more precise point of aim across a wide range of shooting distances. A 30 mm tube, nitrogen filling, and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof construction round out a design intended for regular field use in difficult weather and changing temperatures.

About Alpen Optics

Alpen Optics was founded by Tim Gardner in December 1996, and the company introduced its first products in 1997. Its history identifies Rancho Cucamonga, California as the company’s headquarters. Alpen Optics focuses on sporting optics, with a product range that includes binoculars, spotting scopes, riflescopes, and thermal optics, giving the brand a broad presence across hunting and observation categories.

The company’s later development also shaped its current position. Explore Scientific acquired Alpen Optics’ trademarks and designs in 2018, helping continue the brand under new ownership. Across its catalog, Alpen has used category-specific optical technologies such as BaK-4 prisms, PXA phase coating, HR metallic coatings, and ED glass in relevant product lines. In the riflescope segment, that background translates into a focus on practical field optics that combine durable construction, straightforward controls, and hunting-oriented reticle systems rather than purely competition-driven features.
