Battery life: 11:03 hours
With Pulsar Axion 2 XQ35 LRF, the manufacturer states that the battery life is 11 hours at 22°C. We tested the device, and our measured time was 11:03 hours.
We tested the device at 24.3 – 25.3°C, as you can see in the video. The temperature was similar to the temperature that the manufacturer provides and is usually used for testing.
Please keep in mind, that while testing the device, we didn’t use any functions. Using different functions (such as video recording, Wi-Fi, etc.) usually affects the battery, so we can expect that the battery life will be a little shorter in real-life situations.
We tested the device with the default settings, as it comes out of the box. As mentioned before, the Wi-Fi was turned off and all the other functions (such as color mode, brightness, and contrast) were left at the default setting.
For the Pulsar Axion 2 XQ35 LRF, we used the APS 5 Li-ion Battery Pack that is included in the box. As the battery is removable, you can bring multiple batteries with you in the field. This is a very convenient feature, which makes this device a good option for longer hunts.
Need a Spare Battery?
Pulsar produces multiple APS batteries: APS2, APS3, and APS5. You can charge the device with a type-C charger, which is included in the package, or you can take out the battery and charge it with the Pulsar APS battery charger.
This Pulsar monocular also has a Standby option, which can save your battery. If you wish to enter the Standby mode, you must hold the on/off button until the countdown appears. Then release the button within 3s countdown to active the standby mode. To exit the standby mode, short press on/off button again to exit standby mode.
To turn the Pulsar Axion 2 XQ35 LRF off, the user must hold the on/off button, wait until the countdown is complete and the device turns off.
