Our Observations
With Burris BTH50 you must hold the on/off button for 3-4 seconds and the manufacturer’s logo appears at about 8 seconds. We stopped the start-up timer as soon as the image appeared, which was at approximately 16.79 seconds. We started pressing the “Menu” button when that happened, to accurately portray the ready-to-use time – the time when the device responds to all users’ actions. That was at approximately 19.88 seconds. A good indicator for the ready-to-use time is also the calibration. After we get the image, you can see and hear when the device calibrates – the image freezes for a second, and you can also hear the click. After the first calibration, the device is ready to be used.
In this case, we tested the ready-to-use time with the press of the Menu button, as mentioned before. Usually, we test it by pressing the Zoom button, but this device is different, as you must hold the button for a longer period to get that function, and the ready-to-use time is longer. Therefore, we pressed the Menu button for more accurate results.
To turn the device off, the user must hold the power button until the progress bar is full, and the screen turns off. If you release the power button before the progress bar is full, the device goes into Standby mode. If you wish to use the device again, simply press any button, and it immediately becomes ready for use. With the short press of the power button, the device calibrates.
The device is easy to handle, and you can press the buttons even if you are wearing gloves.
Burris BTH50 has a built-in battery, which you can charge with a micro-USB type C power cable. The device also has a power-saving mode.
