Vortex Crossfire HD 10x50

• HD optical system: Selected glass elements help reduce chromatic aberration and improve contrast, so distant game, birds, and terrain details appear cleaner and easier to separate.
• 10x50 configuration: The 10x magnification gives useful reach for scanning open ground, while the 50 mm objective lenses and 5.00 mm exit pupil support a bright, steady image in lower light.
• Fully multicoated lenses: Anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces improve light transmission, which helps maintain image clarity at dawn, dusk, and in shaded woodland.
• Roof prism, open-hinge design: The Schmidt/Pechan prism layout keeps the binocular compact, and the single-hinge body is easier to carry and hold securely over long periods in the field.
• Argon-filled waterproof construction: Waterproof and fogproof sealing helps the binocular stay dependable through rain, temperature changes, and cold morning starts.

About the Vortex Crossfire HD Series

Vortex Crossfire HD binoculars are built as an accessible hunting and wildlife-observation line that focuses on practical field performance rather than unnecessary complexity. The series currently includes five binocular variants, among them 8x42, 10x42, 10x50, and 12x50 models, giving users a choice between wider handheld viewing and more reach for open-country glassing. Across the range, Vortex uses an HD optical system with selected glass elements to reduce chromatic aberration and support better color fidelity, edge-to-edge sharpness, and light transmission.

All models in the series use fully multi-coated lenses to improve clarity and low-light usability, and they share a straightforward mechanical layout with a true open hinge, adjustable eyecups, and a center focus wheel. The series is also nitrogen-purged and O-ring sealed for waterproof and fogproof performance, and every model is tripod-adaptable. In practice, that makes Crossfire HD binoculars a sensible fit for hunters at different experience levels who need dependable optics for scanning cover, watching field edges, or observing wildlife without moving into a heavier or more specialized binocular class.

About the Vortex Crossfire HD 10x50

Vortex Crossfire HD 10x50 is the larger-objective option in the Crossfire HD family for users who want more low-light capability without stepping away from a general-purpose handheld format. Its 10.00 x magnification is a proven balance for hunting binoculars: strong enough to pick apart distant tree lines, ridges, and field margins, yet still manageable for extended handheld use. Paired with a 50.00 mm objective lens and 5.00 mm exit pupil, it delivers a brighter, more relaxed view in the first and last light periods when animal movement is often highest.

The binocular uses roof - Schmidt/Pechan prisms and fully multicoated lenses, a combination that keeps the body trim while supporting good contrast and image definition. A 107.00 m/1000m field of view gives enough width for scanning moving subjects and following terrain transitions, while the 17.00 mm eye relief helps maintain comfortable viewing, including for many eyeglass wearers. The 1.80 m close focus also makes the binocular more versatile for nearby observation.

Mechanically, the Crossfire HD 10x50 is designed for straightforward field use. The central focusing system allows quick adjustment with one control, and the diopter on the right eye-piece lets the image be fine-tuned to the user’s eyesight. At 862.00 g and 170.00 mm long, it remains portable for day-long carry, while the argon-filled, waterproof and fogproof construction adds reliability in wet weather and changing temperatures.

About Vortex

Vortex traces its roots to a Wild Birds Unlimited store opened by the Hamilton family in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1986. The Vortex brand entered the sport optics market in 2002, and the company is now headquartered in Barneveld, Wisconsin. It is employee-owned and operated, with a product range centered on sport optics for hunting, shooting, and outdoor use.

Its catalog includes binoculars, riflescopes, spotting scopes, laser rangefinders, and red dots, with product families such as Razor, Viper, and Kaibab covering different performance levels and applications. Vortex also uses technologies such as GeoBallistics-powered ballistic tools in parts of its lineup. In addition to consumer sport optics, the company has also supplied more specialized systems, including selection in 2022 to produce and deliver fire-control systems for the U.S. Army’s Next Generation Squad Weapons program.
