Vomz Pilad P 6x42 L

• Fixed 6x magnification: A constant magnification keeps the sight picture simple and consistent, which helps with fast familiarity in the field and removes the need to adjust zoom before taking a shot.
• 42 mm objective lens: The larger front lens supports a bright, usable image for hunting in mixed light, while still keeping the scope compact enough for general-purpose rifle setups.
• Illuminated SFP reticle: The illuminated reticle stands out better against dark game or shaded backgrounds, and the second focal plane layout keeps the reticle appearance unchanged as the scope is used.
• Capped 1/4 MOA turrets: Capped adjustment turrets protect zero from accidental movement during transport and field carry, making this layout well suited to practical hunting use.
• Shockproof and waterproof construction: The sealed, recoil-resistant build is made for regular outdoor use, helping the scope cope with rough weather, hard handling and repeated firing.

About the Vomz Pilad P Series

The Vomz Pilad P series is a family of fixed-magnification riflescopes built around a straightforward mechanical layout for hunters and sport shooters who value consistency over complexity. Within the Pilad range, the P-series covers several fixed-power models, including compact options for short-distance driven hunting and higher-magnification versions for more deliberate aiming. The series has been offered with illuminated and non-illuminated reticles, as well as multiple reticle patterns, which gives it a practical spread across different shooting styles.

A defining characteristic of the series is its use of a fixed-power design with fewer moving parts than variable-magnification scopes. In practice, that approach supports mechanical simplicity, repeatable handling and a familiar sight picture every time the rifle is shouldered. Pilad P models are intended for applications such as hunting and sport shooting, and the range includes versions configured for 26 mm or 30 mm rings depending on model. Across the series, the emphasis is on durable optical sights that remain easy to use in the field, with model choices that cover moving targets at shorter distances as well as more precise aiming where extra magnification is useful.

About the Vomz Pilad P 6x42 L

The Vomz Pilad P 6x42 L is a fixed-power hunting riflescope that balances image brightness, moderate magnification and uncomplicated operation. Its 6x magnification gives more target detail than lower-power driven-hunt optics, making it a sensible fit for general hunting and deliberate shot placement at medium distances, while still remaining easier to live with than a larger, heavier high-magnification scope. Paired with a 42.00 mm objective lens and multicoated optics, it is configured to deliver a clear, practical image for field use in varied light conditions.

The scope uses an illuminated reticle in the second focal plane, so the reticle keeps the same apparent size in the sight picture. That is useful for shooters who want a familiar aiming view and a reticle that remains easy to pick up quickly. Illumination adds contrast when the target is dark or the background is visually busy, which can help in woodland, overcast conditions or at the edges of legal shooting light. The 80.00 mm eye relief also contributes to practical shooting comfort by giving a safer, more forgiving head position on rifles with noticeable recoil.

Mechanically, the P 6x42 L is set up for field reliability rather than constant adjustment. Its capped turrets with 1/4 MOA click value are better suited to maintaining zero during normal carry than to frequent dialing, which matches the role of a fixed-power hunting optic. A 25.4 mm tube, waterproof and shockproof construction, and an operating range of -40 °C / +50 °C further underline its use as a practical riflescope for demanding outdoor conditions.

About Vomz

VOMZ began operations in Vologda, Russia, on October 16, 1971. The company produces optoelectronic products for both special-purpose and civilian use, with a product range that includes optical, prism and collimator sights. In the sporting optics segment, VOMZ is known for manufacturing Pilad-branded rifle scopes intended for applications such as hunting and sport shooting.

The company is headquartered in Vologda, Russia and is part of the Shvabe holding within the Rostec State Corporation. For riflescope buyers, that background is relevant because it reflects long-standing specialization in sighting equipment rather than a general outdoor catalog. VOMZ also states that its scopes are tested against recoil loads of 800 g, which aligns with the practical, durability-focused character of the Pilad line.
